Title: Disc Dying
Post by: Myk on September 18, 2002, 04:52:04 AM
I gave Jojo my CE-Valk and asked him to do a dye for me.  Good God did it turn out sweeter than I thought it could!!  Jim and Brett's discs look pretty sweet as well!!!  I can't wait for Sunday all the sudden.

Yeah, I agree that a small donation to JoJo would be in order.

I like the idea of getting discs that will be dyeable, but do we want to get all of the plastic we order in white? Keep in mind that other colors dye well also.

The biggest thing to take into consideration, from what I understand, is that any kind of plastic other than DX will dye well. DX plastic will dye but it doesn't take as well.

Woo-hoo!

What if, for the 2003 club stamped disc we buy blank white discs, have Innova stamp them with whichever art we go with, then have jojo dye them afterwards? Would that kill the artwork?

Fluff girls? The ones that fluff your pillow?

Dude, you've been sippin' that Drano again, huh?

Awesome BC! I can't wait either. I'm guessing we have 12 attend.

Jim says he's a good as most fluff girls. Think this would be good enough?

Brett, what was it that you were trying to say? Try typing when your mouth isn't full. :)

buy lots of the new KC plastic, it may cost more but it has ce plastic in it with a really grippy feel.  Jim did you ever get those KC eagles from last years Saffari?

I will have to consult the artiste, but I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem.

I agree with the other colors than white, but then again I don't know what colors dye well :-)

AS for the DX plastic issue, I guess it's a matter of what the extra cost would be to get plastic in another plastic. Then theres also that issue of not as many choices(or more depending on how you look at it) if you go with a different plastic.

White dyes best.  Light colored primary colors [yellow and blue] are ok but if you start with a colored base you are limited in what you can do next.

I will dye any color you happen to get.  But there are more options on what I can do with color, with white discs.
