Hey all, I'm new to the Disc Continuum crew, not a member yet, but hopefully soon! I ran into the Prez. Brett @ Mundelein yesterday and good time getting to know him and about the club. I'm also looking forward to the new course in Wildwood, which is where I live (on John Mogg Rd)...looking forward to May 1!Throw 'em well!
Zach Baker, Wildwood
Awesome! Hope to see you someday soon, I also live close to WW - in the subdivision across Almond from the HS & Warren Twp. Center.
Definitely! I usually play a lot @ Adler during the week...it can get pretty crowded on the weekends. Haven't made it up to Waukegan lately, but hopefully soon. I'll be @ WW on May 1st. Adios.
Glad you stopped by Zach & welcome to the board. Had a good time last night & thanks again for helping me look for that disc.
Well, I didn't think there was anywhere you could lose a disc @ Mundelein. I was wrong. To avoid hitting the cars parked by #9 I threw a big hyzer & tried to land it short of the creek. It ended up about 15feet inside the drainage pipe.
Zach, welcome to the board!! We're happy to have you stop by, and hopefully we'll see you on a Sunday sometime soon.
As far as getting stuff out of drains and out of lakes, has anyone ever tried one of these babies?? http://www.ezee-reachersupply.com/ (http://www.ezee-reachersupply.com/)
It looks like a great idea, but I don't think it'll actually work in an underwater situation. Any experiences?
I have seen those. The custodian at school has one. Maybe i'll ask to give it a try.
It wouldn't have helped me last night though. I had to get inside the pipe to get my disc out :D .
Some of them have a super long reach. 30 something feet would have been plenty of reach.
Yeah, if they really made 30something foot long poles, i don't think we'd have a problem getting most discs, even some of the ones in the lake. Guess I need to re-read my measurements.

I've always thought that someone should make those but in a super long variety. That website sells moderately long ones--up to 48", but it'd be nice to find someone who sells a 30 foot or more variety. Might be a bit pricey, though.
We keep a 10 foot pole in Becky's car. Its 2 sections of 5 foot pvc with a connector in the middle. The connector is not glued which makes it easy to break down to the two parts and put in the trunk.
Hey Zach
I try to get out to Adler everyday for atleast 9 holes of golf. I drive a silver ford taurus, maybe I'll catch you out there sometime and we can toss a round.
You should definetly come out to Waukegan on Sunday mornings, these guys run a well organized league and attending has made me a better disc golfer
Good Idea Diron, I drive a silver Acura Integra (96) myself, I might get there tomorrow morning, but I'll definitely make it out next week. I wish I could make it to the Sunday morning league, but I'm usually in church. Looking fwd to meeting you sometime!
Hey Zach, welcome!
Welcome Zach..
I ran into lots of water hazards in Charlotte and picked up a golf ball retreiver for 15 bucks. It is a telescoping pole that goes over 20+ft. You need to break off the small hoop and remove the spring and then cut about 1/3 of the big hoop out. It has more then payed itself off in a few rounds. Works great for getting discs back and does not take much room to stow.

I'm planning on playing Wildwood this afternoon around 5:45, 6.
I went by last night w/ a friend as well. Love the trees on the tee @ #2. Holes #3 and 4 are great short holes through the trees. Definitely a number of ace opportunites. Great course for working on specific shots and mid-ranges!
Zach
Hey all, I'm going to play 18-27 @ Mundelein today after work, should be there by 5:30ish. I drive a silver Acura Integra. Let's hope it isn't to wet from the rain!
