Title: Rockford (Anna Page)
Post by: JohnBrady on April 29, 2004, 07:50:54 AM
Rockford recently installed another 18-hole course.

Both courses are challenging in different ways:
Course #1 (East) is a beautiful long course with concrete tee-pads, open fairways, and pins in tight areas close to trees and shrubs
Course #2 (West) presents it's own challenges with tight wooded fairways and elevations changes

wow, that sounds great.

Is the construction around there done yet? Finding that park last summer w/ all the roads torn up was a struggle for this out-of-towner.

Damon,
I have not been out there this season yet - I gotta believe the road construction is finished.  I plan on getting out there as soon as the gale force winds die down.  Here is their site -

I might be able to get out there on Saturday morning (15th).   I would think of starting about 8:30am to get done with both courses by noon.

Played here yesterday.  This course is very tough but lots of fun.  I saw a guy hit the first basket on the west course with his tee shot as I was playing 18.  He hit it square on the pole and it bounced out.  The shot is a right handed hyzer about 235 feet.  This course has a lot of nice righty shots. Being a lefty, I had to think hard before letting go.  I plan to get back there on the afternoon of 10-12.

Last I heard Carl was working on becomming a PDGA official.  He told me that they were looking towards next year for a C or B tier tourny.  The course is the best in the area for a tourny.
