Title: Recent Worm Viruses
Post by: Jon Brakel on May 10, 2004, 02:53:16 PM
There are a few people in IT land that are predicting the possibility of a massive denial of service (DoS) in the near future. Based on the numerous versions of the sasser worm, the theory goes that it is a calculated attack by a group rather than just a rogue geek gone bad.

Interesting, if geeky reading. Info World Sasser article (http://www.infoworld.com/article/04/05/10/HNsasser_1.html)

i got hit by the sasser worm on my home PC the day before microsoft released info on how to deal with it on their website.  it wasn't much fun for about 12 hours.  i couldn't get on the web and my computer was operating extremely slowly and constantly locking up.  these kids who create these viruses should have to pay a hefty penalty.
