FYI
Our legacy continues. :D
Chuck proposed it. I explained it. Suzette supported it. The rest of the committee "whatever"d it. ;D
Off topic sort of....Bruce, so when is Kelsey going pro? I noticed her rating jumped a mile in the last year or so. I would think she would be competitive among top pro women now.
Going pro is not important to her. All going pro does is preclude playing Am Nats, Am World Dubs and Am Worlds against the boys. Pro women do not earn more money than pro veterinarians, so the money is not calling out to her.
I'm pretty sure I said this before, but I think it would be quite amusing if the highest rated woman was not a pro, but found hiding out in the MA1 ranks.
I agree about the money and understand her perspective. Selfishly, I just wanted to see how she'd do against the top female pros.
I'd like to see Kelsey play pro world's in the women's division, win it and decline the money.
I think playing it, winning it and taking prizes instead of the cash is on her bucket list. Time and money have been obstacles recently. Veterinary medical school is harder to get into and harder to complete than ordinary medical school. How many med students do you know playing professional disc golf, or professional anything?
But consider this: Her 952 rating, or whatever it is right now, is based on her being able to play sometimes as often as once a week. I think she'll get pretty good when she has time to play and practice.
If she can get a week off in 2015 she might play Kalamazoo Am Worlds or Pennsylvania Pro Worlds.

I think I might understand why its so hard. They need to know so much. I see Dr. Pol go from farm calls to look at horses then pigs then cows then back to the office and see a dog then a rabbit then a lizard. Plus he has to be OBGYN, oncologist, trauma specialist, surgeon, and every other kind of specialist all in one day. If he were a people doctor it would be like being all those specialists plus every race of person you see is a different species.
She is hoping to play Am Nats again this year if it does not fill by May 1.
Kelsey is making arrangements to play 2014 USADGC and 2015 Am Worlds.
