This is a cool format! I will be attending some of these events!!! Thanks for doing this, I was wondering if any winter leagues were going to happen!
I will for sure be coming out to some of these. I'm been dying for a singles league, and since I moved up to the northern burbs, joliet handicap league is quite a haul now!
Leagues for tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 2nd will be at Central Park in Grayslake.
Please get there @ 9:45 so we can start at 10am, or even earlier if you'd like to help shovel teepads.
Hope to see lots of folks out there!

One newer player showed up today and kicked my butt. Beautiful day with lots of sun made it almost tolerable when putting and approaching in knee-deep snow. Thanks for coming out, Joe!
The attached Excel document shows all the stats for this league. I will update it and repost each week.
I will be getting to the Diamond Lake Disc Golf Course between 8am and 8:30am today to shovel off teepads.
I will have fresh coffee and hand warmers available - come on out and have fun kicking Winter's butt.
Tee-off at 10am.
Is it 2 rounds of 9 at Diamond Lake?
Thanks to Phil, Adam, and Tom for braving some deep snow and bone-chilling winds this past Sunday.
Tom shot a crazy-hot round!
Updated statistics sheet is attached.
This Sunday: Grayslake at 10am!
I will be out there around 8:30 this morning to work on the teepads. If anyone wants to join me, please do - and bring an ice breaker. Mine is currently in my shed, which is frozen shut with ice. Ironic, huh? Thanks!
Good playing today! Thanks to the six players showed up and we saw some fun shots.
Thanks to Phil B and friend for getting out on Saturday and helping to clear those icy tees!
Tom S is currently the hot player, taking home 1st place two weeks in a row.
Updated stats sheet is attached.
Had a lot of fun out there! We are playing the Rockford doubles event next week, but
I will see you guys at diamond lake the following week!
Thanks again we had a blast
Good to see you, Trevor - and everyone else!
This Sunday, Feb. 23rd, leagues will be at Bevier Park in Waukegan at 10am. CTP will be Hole 15. Ace Pool is at $35.
Come on out and have some fun! Winter isn't going away yet, so you might as well have fun throwing some disc!
Another fun week is in the books!
Some good shooting today.
HUGE THANKS to Adam Weber and Phil Bartkicky for shoveling the teepads yesterday!
Updated stats sheet is attached.
Diamond Lake this sunday?
Yep! Diamond Lake Sports Complex at 10am.
It is on Route 60, just 200 feet past the Irish Mill.
Ace Pool is at $40. There are a few ace round here. Come on out and win some cash!
What time are you planning to be out there? I live 3 mins from the course, I may be able to come out a little early to help clean it up.
Just let me know!
T-
That would be fantastic, Trevor!
I will be getting there around 8:30.
If you can, please bring an ice scraper or a hoe, as mine is still frozen inside my shed.
I truly appreciate it.
Just text me if I am already out on the course when you get there. 847-471-2169.
It is going to be perhaps the harshest weather we've had to play in so far. The snow/ice will be deep, so I am bringing chalk to mark your discs if you choose. Also bringing extra hand warmers.
On the bright side, we've seen some pretty cool things so far during leagues: great drives and putts, wild skips, beautiful scenery, and meeting new friends. Thanks to all the folks who keep braving the elements to have some discing fun.
Hope to see you out there!
Week 6: 4 hearty souls endured some rough conditions today, but we still had fun!
Updated stats sheet is attached.
ATTENTION: The next 3 weeks of Winter League will be played at Bevier.
We will not play Grayslake next week or Diamond Lake the week after.
This is due to the terrible conditions of the teepads at Diamond Lake and Grayslake.
Even with ice chippers, we were throwing from deep, icy boxes.
It isn't safe or enjoyable.
So, because the teepads at Bevier are in the best condition, and are easiest to maintain, the 3 remaining league dates will be at Bevier Park at 10am.
Thanks!
Thanks Jim
Six of us had some fun and enjoyed a warmer day at Bevier.
Saw some old friends and made some new ones!
Dave took the CTP again and Tom played well enough for another first place finish.
Next week will once again be at Bevier.
Come on out - Ace Pool is at $50.
Updated stats sheet is attached.
Once again proving I can get the disc to the basket just not in.
Fun times everyone, Hope I can make it next week!
Ready to roll for this week!!!!!
It was good to meet you, Ryan, and I hope to see even more folks on Sunday at Bevier!
Good morning! The wind is currently at 20mph with gusts up to 36mph.
Bring your overstable plastic and come on out for Leagues this morning! Woo-hoo!
Eleven courageous players showed up today! Kenny bested the 40+mph winds for 1st, while Tom took the 3-way playoff for 2nd.
A huge THANK YOU to Tom Schodtler for donating an LSDiscs hat and 2 minis for CTP today!
Lots of fun - it was great to see so many discers return each week, despite the weather!
Updated stats sheet is attached.
Jim,
Thank you very much for running this league. I will be in Florida next week :) playing in the warm weather!!! Let me know about spring leagues when you figure out what you are going to do. Thanks again!
Trevor
You are very welcome - it has been a blast! Thank YOU for making it out during the harsh weather!
Next week is the LAST WEEK for Winter Singles.
We will have two special CTPs and points winners will receive awards next week.
Make sure to be there, everyone!
Also, many players have expressed interest in keeping a Singles league going all year long.
I did not expect this, as Best Shot Doubles has always been popular.
I would be happy to run (or at least help run) a Singles league, and will talk to some folks about the best way and when to do it.
We will set something up ASAP.
It would be awesome to keep the singles league going all year. We can spread the word and get some good turnouts.
thanks jim for running winter leagues, and everyone that helped shovel tees!
Make that at least FOUR CTPs this Sunday for the last week of Winter League!!!
Come on out - second and third places are not guaranteed - and get some points and cool prizes!
Winter League, Final Week:
CTP, Hole 1: Cash
CTP, Hole 5: 3 cool minis
CTP, Hole 12: new 2003 Rumbletown stamp T-bird, 175, red
CTP, Hole 15: Metal Innova mini
End of League Points Prizes:
3rd Place - Award Plaque
2nd Place - Award Plaque + $10
1st Place - Award Plaque + $20
Ace Pool: If not hit this Sunday, 3/23, half the money rolls over as seed for the Spring/Summer League Ace Fund, and the other half goes to the club (for things like course upgrades and merch for various league prizes).
Hope to see lots of folks at Bevier this Sunday at 10am!
What a great day to end the 2014 Winter League!
13 people showed up today and we saw big changes in point positioning!
Jose shot lights out to take first place this week, 2 CTPs, and grabbed 2nd place in overall points!
Final Results:
1st Place - Tom S
2nd Place - Jose
3rd Place - Kenny G
Dave won the cash CTP, Jose won two CTPs, and Daniel won the final prize CTP.
HUGE THANK YOU to all who showed up, even just once, over this Winter League!
Your fun attitudes, regardless of the weather, made playing worth while!
More thanks to those guys who drove a long way, from Chicago and Niles, every week to brave this frigid winter and ring some chains.
The Ace Fund reached $74, but was never hit, so $37 gets rolled over into the Spring/Summer Singles League and $37 goes to the Club.
The Club Fund made $54, spent $42 on prize money, award frames, and hand warmers, made $37 from the Ace Fund, which equals a total of $49 toward the Club.
Spring/Summer League will starter in mid-May, if not sooner. Get updates here or on the DISContinuum Facebook pages!
Thanks for running the league Jim.
