Title: Fairfield Park
Post by: CEValkyrie on June 29, 2004, 08:57:08 PM
I have scheduled 2 work days with the Round Lake Area Park District.

One day will be used to spread wood chips & remove debris from the wooded holes.

The Saturday before the Fairfield Fairwell, we'll top off & level tee pads and have a garbage clean up day.

Don't forget about the work day @ Fairfield. 8:00AM this Saturday. If you have a rake, please bring it. We'll be spreading wood chips & picking up trash so bring some gloves as well.

We got quite a bit done today. Leveled off tee pads that needed it and wood chipped hole 8 & the path from #7 to #8 & #8 to #9.

This week I also painted baskets #15 & #16 and labled the 2nd set of bricks marking the tees.

On my end, I finished several more overall trophy discs and got another 800 feet of yellow rope.

I played Fairfield today with Jill. Looks nice, Brett! You and Jon did a good job. I was greatful the grass on hole 12 isn't mushy-wet :) It was good to play there again before the Fairfield fairwell :)

Garbage pick up will help. Also, the limestone is still settling & somewhat loose. If you can help level it by just using your shoe, that helps too. Dan & I played there last night & the tee pads are in good condition. I just hope we don't get a big thunderstorm this week or it will wash away.

Garbage and trash pick up will help improve your rating too.  For every piece of trash you pick up you later get a stoke shaved off your score.  Sometimes I've had to wait as long as two or three holes for the effect to kick in, but try it.

The weather cleared for a few hours this afternoon so I headed out to Fairfield to check the tees out. I raked and leveled the pads. This is by far the tees have been since I started playing disc at Fairfield. The rain helped settle the tees and they started to harden. Hopefully we won't get a big down pour that washes them out before Saturday.

The rest of the course is looking great. All baskets are painted and wood chips are down.
