Post by: lindbird on April 02, 2003, 07:24:54 PM
I just moved up here from St. Louis and was wondering what some good places to buy discs were.

Thanks,

Ryan

Walgreens or Mobil Gas at Rt. 137 and Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville.

Ace Hardware on 137 in Libertyville.

Walgreens on Sunset & Lewis in Waukegan.

and of course....

discgolfworld.com

sunkingdiscs.com

and

hyzerhurths.com (josh, will you deliver/meet for pickup if local to save shipping?)

Welcome to the City of 4 Seasons (in one day). Hope you like the courses. Come on up to Waukegan on Sunday mornings at 10:30am for leagues.  If you need a rise or carpool or directions, either post here or email office@discontinuum.org.

I'm working on getting a model out to the course for some promo (not porno) pics. She's a temp where I work and she's a knockout! She's never played disc, but is an althetic tomboy / model type. Perhaps we can be the first club to come out with a non-naked disc golf centerfold calendar!!!

Seriously, think about it for a sec.

If we get our 2004 schedule together by November or early December, we could publish it in calendar form. Whether we do it in black & white or color, i could lay it out electronically and get it printed through a friend at a good discount.  it could be a great promo tool for local disc golf. I do not think anyone else is doing this.  let's put it on the meeting agenda......

hmmmmm......

images of Jay wearing a diamond tiara and strapless gown, prancing from hole to hole..........

ok, not really.

Gotta get a couple of pics of the big arms driving...

A few pics of kids at tourneys or Junior Leagues...

Gotta have a pic of Becky, our most ardent female player....

Maybe get on top of the fieldhouse and get some scenic shots......

And of course pics of our PDGA event......

Any other ideas?

Well Ryan lets see....

If your in the city check with any Play it Again Sports. Outside of the city check with the closest Walgreens to a given course. Walgreens seems to be disc shrine with everything available and ofcourse the nearest gas stations as well.

Other than that you could of course join the DISContinnum. In addition to a free disc(w/$15.00 membership fee) we have great deals through many sponsors and get absolutely fantastic deals on discs.

So welcome to the area! Though the club's home course is located in Waukegan many of us live a good ways from there. I in fact also live in the city, acctually Evanston, but close enough. If you ever want to head out to leagues, let me know perhaps a car pool.

hehe tired of reading yet?

St. Louis huh? Ever played at Dave's Vichy courses? I'm heading down there in 2 weeks to play the 2003 Ozark Mountain Open. Have room for one more!

So once again Welcome!!
