Get a load of this - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3604033153&category=20851
Wonder if someone is playing copycat? I think its fugly.
I dunno... it doesn't really even look like a disc... Maybe he scanned it, or maybe its just a photoshopped interpretation of the finished disc?
There certainly is something about it that makes it look non-real.
Betcha the corn starch is just to make it more into a paste or just less liquidy... Worm dye is prolly a fishing thing & any tackle shop should carry it.
Very plaid-y. And ying-y.
I bid.
But I doubt it will stand.........
Well, I pushed it up some more, but still outbid. That dshort guy must really want this disc.......... :-)
I say YEP.
Officers?
Quite fugly.
We are very lucky to have Jojo's talents!
I really like the disc that you did for me... http://www.theshortpeople.com/gallery/drdye?&page=13
Thanks Doc
Disc's...or Disc? What is plural for disc?
Get a strip card and give out 5 buck a chance on a sweet dye. Pull the tab to see who wins the disc. Then donate $50 to the Praire Open and get a Dr. Dye tee sign at a hole for both days... Holes 2-8,10-12,14,16and 17 are still available.
...I'd pay a buck, maybe 2, but not 5. You'd probably get a better response ==] more 'income' if the price was less.[/quote]
I was thinking of an idea for getting some money out of you guys for a hole sponsor and letting you get a chance to win something. Sure it is steep...but look at the $5 disc you might win.
Hole sponsors are $50 a hole and it stays on the hole for both days. I have 1 copy of the sponorship form and my copier took a dump, but if anyone is interested http://www.uwp.edu/admin/union/discgolf/tournament/sponsor_info.html Really not a bad price for your artwork on a 12x18 sign. Tee sponsors are going fast right now, so if you want a certain hole, let me know asap.
Worm dye mixed with corn starch will get colors that bright.
I'm willing to bet that the stamp was removed...Try cornstarch with the rit sometime, I heard that some plastic that does not dye well, does well with the starch. I'm going to try it with my KC stuff. I have a friend that uses a few hair dyes with starch and has success.
Alright!! you guys rock!!!
If anyone in the area happens to win the disc I will not charge for shipping, well maybe gas money, but I'd just give that to Myk anyway since he always drives.
Thanks Shawn, glad you like them. They look alot better in person though. But you will find that out on sunday.
Thanks for bidding Damon. To bad you didnt keep it for to long, I thought you'd keep the highest bid at least for a day or two. I am really suprised at how much it has increased already. And dont worry there will be more Plaid dyed discs(thanks mirth, for disc(s)). Who knows maybe I will auction off a disc here on the website and put it in the club members only section. So only a club member could bid, or somthing like that. Who knows what the future may bring. Well, it will definatly bring better dyed discs, because with every disc I dye, I think I get a touch better.
Anyway, thanks for bidding Jim, and Damon. And to the rest of you, you better bid before the price gets to outrageous!!!
Good idea, I have to think it over. But very good idea. Even if I dont do a strip card, I am intrested in sponsering a couple holes at the Prarie Open. Bring any info to leagues, if you would be so kind. Does anyone else have an opinion on a strip card. Would you pay $5 for a chance to win a DR DYED disc? Please anyone let me know, if you guys would be intrested. Thanks.
Huh... its weird. Copy? Who knows, doesnt really look like plaid though. More like abstract art or something. Definatly different. Looks like he is using a different kind of dye, or method. Wonder where the stamp is. Did he remove it, or cover it. Most likely covered it. Its not quite fugly, but close. Different for sure. I will watch to see what it sells for.
worm dye and corn starch? Have you tried it? What is the purpose of the corn starch? Do you think that would cover the stamp?
Yes, it does look very non-real.

Sorry, I didn't comprehend the whole thread; OK, sure, I'd pay $5 toward a hole sponsorship and a chance at a disc.
