Hello,
I am new to Chicago having just moved from Dallas, TX. I have been looking for some courses to play and all of them seem to be out in the burbs. Are there any good courses that are near to the Downtown area? If not, what is the closest most challenging course to the West part of Downtown. I tried PDGA.com but I don't even know the names of the suburbs to find courses and often times the directions there suck arse (in my experience anyway).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Duane
Welcome to IL!
I did a search from Oak Park which is directly on the west side of Chicago off I290. I wasn't sure where you lived.
Chicago is definitely not the prime area to live for disc golf. You will have to battle traffic to play. You have some good options to play though.
I think Lombard will be your best option for travel distance. Other courses that ara quality courses are Mokena IL, Hammond IN, Joliet area courses, & Cedar Lake IN.

Streamwood is also not a bad drive from the city. It has some long hole but old mach 2 baskets. Leagues are on Tuesday nights out there.
Hey Duane,
I also recently relocated to Chicago (from Colorado), and have probably played 20 courses within 90 minutes of my house (I live in Portage Park in northwest Chicago, not far from the Irving Park Road exit on I-90/I-94). Drop me an e-mail or PM and I'll give you my phone number, we'll figure out what courses would work best for you. My schedule is extremely flexible, and I'm always up for a road trip. In fact, I'm playing in the Channahon Classic later this a.m. (in the Joliet area), and there are still a few other good events left in the season; opportunities to get introduced to some of the local players.
Welcome to Chicago, and what the hell is a spirit molecule anyway?

Lombard doubles will be one more Wed, 9/30, at 5; then starting at 10 am Saturdays on 10/2.
Madison Meadows is your best bet from the downtown area. It's got some alternate tees but last time I was out there they still weren't too well marked. The others mentioned are worth a trip, and you should definitely look into Parkside in Kenosha WI (about 80-90 min from downtown - very dependent on traffic).
I live on the N side (W Rogers Park/W Ridge) and it's frustrating to not have any courses in the 'neighborhood' like most of the other clowns around here... :P
hey damon is lombard on sat mornings still going on?
