Great turnout today! 20 players. Weather conditions were perfect.

Ace Pool is $82.00 going into next week.

DON'T FORGET, TIME CHANGE NEXT WEEK[/size]

I owe this $ to these players. I paid out using 18 instead of 20. Sorry guys!
$3.50 Dan M.
$3.50 Adrian G. Jr.
$1.50 Brett C.
$1.50 Mitch W.

I know for sure since i've been running leagues that no one has ever birdied all 9 cements in the same round. Mitch & I did it today. Nice shooting Mitch! Dan & Adrian Jr. got 8 of them. They beat us in a playoff.

So, if there were 20 players shouldn't third place have gotten paid out? Or is it more than 20 that the third place rule kicks in?

21 is the magic # for 3rd.

not quite the Widdershins, but that was a bit windy out there today.  didn't help that we played all the hardest tees too.  i like the new #19 today.  that headwind made it a very difficult hole.

Today

Rating/Name

Upper
938 Tom S.
926 Dan M.
924 Todd F.
917 Jose D.
912 Nate B.
908 Diron B.
??? Jason W.

I've looked at Jason W. scores at 5 sanctioned events & he's approxiamtely a 900 player. He shot a 49 & 54 @ the Fairfield Finale & a 51 & 51 at the Blast. He's a top intemediate player & could compete in advanced if he's play.

Lower
884 Damon S.
873 Allan S.
860 Adrian G. Jr.
843 Mitch W.
??? Nick F.
??? Mike C.
??? Donnovan B.

It would have been between Diron & Jason W. moving down if Adrian Jr. would have moved up. Would you have been willing to play lower today Diron?

But there is the whole problem.

You call Adrian Jr. a bagger so who would you have sent to play lower then? You'd probably be calling them a bagger instead of Adrian Jr.

No league system is 100% fair. We do our best to keep teams equal rather than doing total random draw which 1 or 2 teams dominate over the others.

Looking at the scores yestarday it looks like the teams were fairly even. 2 -6's,
2 -4's, 2 -3's, & a -2.

I understand you are just kidding around but it's also not easy from our end to make decisions of who should play up & who should play down. It's also nice to see a lower player leading the points. It's a good balance of 3 upper & 3 lower players in the top 6 in points right now. Actaully 5 upper & 5 lower are in the top 10 in points as well.

I understand what your saying Brett.

I realize how difficult it is to have an even matched field every week - especially with the need for the field to be perfectly divided upper/lower. I understand if there were a better system you guys would probably use it.

Everywhere you go there will be a bagger. I was a bagger at Adler leagues during spring leagues, and so was Todd. But they made me shoot upper, why would I volunteer to move up unless I had to? Same with Todd, it just took them longer to bump him :P

What I'm saying is, I don't blame Adrian in anyway for shooting lower, just letting you guys know he is a pretty good golfer :P lol

Anywho, had the field been drawn differently, the scores may not have been as close. I know you won't disagree there. But It did work out well thist time - which is the most important thing of all.

Always good times though out at Waukegan, no doubt

I think yesterday's fields were fair, especially if you go by ratings which are the only fair & unbiased barometer of somebody's skill level...

Before I remembered that Tom & Jose were there I was looking at either myself, Damon, or Adrian Jr to play up.

I think that the Upper/Lower Pools were just as they should have been.  If one more lower person showed up then I would say that Adrian should have been the next player bumped up into the upper pool.  He and his partner still have to shoot good golf to win.  Saying that somebody won because they are a bagger is such a whiney excuse for you not playing well enough

How about this, Adrian/Todd played better than Me/Mitch, they deserve to win.  I'll take those same teams again and have no problem with it.  Its not like whoever draws Adrian is winning by 4 shots every week.  Just let the kid be.

Congrats to Dave B. for hitting an ace on #8 for $121.00

4 teams shot -7's. Tom S. won the CTP & won $45.50 playing Cali

Club meeting after leagues next week.

Still good turnouts. 14.2 average for fall over 5 weeks.

thought it was fair course
good mix of the holes

im not sure if the flyers say that mixed set of holes will be played

i think this should be noted/explained/advertised (if its not)
so players dont think you are playing just the cement tees

might get a couple more players

had a great time on sunday

adrian jr - his drives carried us big time

we shot - 8  and should have been lower but we/I
missed 1 and 2 after ok drives

and there was an alt on 8 i misplayed badly that i think imho
i should have been able to play alot better

adrian jr  parked 5 both times from both tees we played
i parked 5 (in practice) though the tree somehow when warming up
had decent drive from the long position but like i said
adrian jr parked it  and i mean parked it  parked it i say

had fun playing with dan m and mike c
i think the pressure of playing with a sox fan got into dans head
lol
just kidding

again had a great time
looking forward to next time i take the trip up
