again

I WANT MY DGWN

according to the pdga site
i cant complain until  nov 15

copied from pdga

DGWN #71, Fall 2004 was mailed Friday, October 22 from Oklahoma City. Transit time is anywhere from 5-24 days, determined by regional post offices which prioritize bulk mail in ways no other humans understand. Add four days for those whose mail must be forwarded to a new address. Most issues get delivered in the 14-21 day range. The missing in action date for most issues is again 24 days or November 15.

DGWN staff apologize for running a week behind their regular schedule, but this issue, which features massive coverage of the Worlds and is a record 116 pages, is a very solid issue.

One small problem, the printer shopped 99 less issues to the mail house than it should have, so there are 99 subscribers whose issues are not yet shipped. The DGWN staff is figuring out who those are so they can answer their individual queries.

Meanwhile, the bottom line is that most people should get their copy somewhere at the end of the first week or in the second week of November and you should not be concerned about "missing" your copy until November 15 at the earliest!

what are the odds that im one in the 99 ?

i ask my bro if he got his yet, he's usually a day or 2 later than mine
and i get "i dont check my mail every day"

ok thats a stupid answer
it doesnt answer my question does it ?
so go check it and say yes or no

i guess it will get here when it get s here

dont tell me the ending

i guess ill avoid this thread

Quotenot as chubby as some of us... ;)
You got that right! She is cute in person, but she does not have a model's body or even an athlete's body. She also seems friendly in that distant Swedish kind of way.

I got mine yesterday.

I find it, annoying to read articles by, Rick Rothstein though. I realize it's his, magazine but he really should have, a copy, editor since he has no clue on where to put and not put commas in his, sentences.

See if you can find the three pictures in which I appear.  Two are easy because I'm also in the text next to the picture.  One is hard.

Several people have told me Kelsey is in there three times also but we can only find two.  Kira, Diana and Jon all got personal pics in also.

Technically speaking, I have appeared in DGWN pictures about a hundred times.

I found all three pictures of Bruce. Probably the only people who will be able to find me are people who are used to looking for me by finding the guy in the Plus-fours that I'm standing next to. Bruce is easy to spot when he's dressed like that. I just look like any other fat guy.

any thoughts of advertising in the dgwn in the future

wi disc sports had a nice 1/2 page ad simply stating the website

We looked into advertising.  DGWN rates are steep.  We debated whether DGWN is going to reach anyone we aren't going to reach with Discontinuum.org, pdga.com, brasscash.com and delivering flyers to courses, leagues and tournaments, and word of mouth.

I think our current philosophical approach is, "We run good tournaments for amateurs who can figure it out.  Feel free to explain it to them."

By the way, at the C-tiers the payout will be FATTER because there is no player's pack.  At the Am B-tiers every amateur will get something because there are players packs.  At the D-tier there will be a lot of CTPs but no payout for amateurs.

from what I have heard the advertising rates are pretty steep for DGWN.  However, I think maybe it could be worth it for the IOS which has so many events.  There are still alot of disc golfers who don't look around much on the internet and don't even have computers.  Alot of these players will rely completely on what they hear from others and looking at the magazine.  Granted the schedule is printed in the magazine, but a half page ad grabbing peoples attention and promoting the club website might help.

There was a nice blurb in the Spring DGWN about the Edgebrook F18 course. Jon is listed as one of the course contacts. We are told that Edebrook will host leagues and tournaments.
