Title: Hiestand- Madison, WI
Post by: Chainmeister on November 01, 2004, 05:54:21 AM
Hey Cheeseheads, have any of you ever played Hiestand in Madison?  I will be in Madison tomorrow and, if I can get up early enough, vote and get there, I hope to throw before biz at 1:30.  I was planning on playing Hiestand as it is near my destination.  How is this course?  Anything I ought to know about it?  Are there others nearby that you think would be better?  The other Madison area course that I saw on the PDGA website seems like it closed today for the season. Thanks.

I've played Hiestand a few different times.  I really love it from the long tees.  Alot of elevation change.

chain,

hiestand is a very cool course, lots of different shots and some mucho elevation changes.  if you have the time though i would check out token creek which is only a ten minute drive north of heistand off of hwy 51.  token creek is maybe the best maintained course, no trash or broken bottles on the fairways, and since its a play to play (i think 3 dollars), all you get out there is people that want to play disc golf.  you will be happy with either course though.  enjoy.

I know this is old, but WTH

Played this & Elver last Thursday with Schwinn1 (Ben) on the way to Baraboo.  Nice courses, elevation used well. I also lost my white Star SLut at Heistand, so I would say the rough is pretty rough. Good courses, worth a stop, but not destination courses.(not that many are)
