Title: Champion Rocs
Post by: Chainmeister on February 10, 2005, 08:33:03 PM
2005 Champion Rocs will be available 2-16-05 per the Innova website, www.innovadiscs.com

That being said, is it worth $25? Dunno.  However, it seems like a cleaner topic than the exploration of geese and dogs.

Ummm...   USDGC not worlds, totally different event Mirth.

If you are a collector they might be worth it.  Only certain runs are worth it too me,  my friends at Innova said the glows and the opaque ones are the shiznit.

Only worth what someone will pay for it..

I don't think any disc is worth anything near that, atleast not to me

I'd spend all that money on it, then put it on my wall, never throw it and never let anyone see it out of it's hyperbaric chamber

Then after I realized noone, including myself, cares, I'd kick myself in the ass and wonder why I just wasted all that cash on something so dumb

Anyone else try (or actually was able) to buy the rocs? I had 5 in my cart and it never allowed me to check out...Server kept crashing. Now, I'll probably get none. They took the server down and are trying to "quantitize" (new word) everything.

Guess I'll have to by more Beasts and Orcs.

Supposedly DX Orcs were also released today.

heh. the server melted under the load. A type of disc golf slashdotting, if you will.

I finally got an order to go through around 4:00.

Just picked up 1 glow. I thought the 2 stamps for the regular version sucked this year and while the special blend stamp was cool, it wasn't worth another $25 to me since I only buy these to hang on the wall.

Got a 170 yellow tribal. I didn't want the special blend as I wanted a more stable disc.  I plan to throw this thing not collect it.  Couldn't get to a computer until just now so not much was left colorwise.  I saw a lime in 175 but this is too heavy for me.

I was very fortunant to get a red tirbal roc for my son who is in the US Marine Corps. Served 9 months in Iraq. I look forward to being able to give this  great disk to him.

disc not disk

Quotedisc not disk
I've always been curious about why disc golf adopted the "c" spelling rather than disk. Disk has been used in the computer industry for decades but disc has been the accepted spelling in the music industry. Anyone know the answer to that? It's not in my vintage Frisbee book.

Pretty much got exactly what I ordered. Got all the colors I wanted except one was a little heavier than asked for. Otherwise, pretty happy with everything. I was able to pick up a 179 Flagstick Ice color. According to this LIST (http://www.zonedriven.com/2005_usdgcroc_collectors_list.htm) there were only 15 of this made.

My X-Out is a bright green/yellow with a ZoneDriven hotstamp. There's a couple of black flecks in the plastic but that's it. No bubbles or warps that I can tell.

My special blend looks as if there is a slight hole in the middle of the disc. Is a disc usually cut from this point? Almost seems as if this could be the X out.

Innova called me and said they were out of Tribal Stamps.    I have a 170 orange flagstick coming.  They sent it UPS and I hope to throw it at Fairfield on Saturday.  :)

just got mine in yesterday; max-weight glow and special blend.  the glow is staying on the wall but i took the special out to the course and it flies a whole lot straighter than most rocs will when they are new - perfect for straight 250' shots!
