Title: Avatars, signature lines, and pdga.com
Post by: Bruce Brakel on May 19, 2005, 10:57:37 PM
This is the url for my avatar at pdga.com:

http://discontinuum.org/forums/uploads/pos...-1114999157.jpg (http://discontinuum.org/forums/uploads/post-10-1114999157.jpg)

I'd like to change the image associated with that url without changing the url.  This is not anything I can do.  I have already experimented.  If I modify the post where that avatar is posted by posting a new image, the new image is assigned a new url.

Answering your next question, the reason why I want to change the image without changing the url is two-fold.  I sold the disc and agreed to quit using the avatar.  However, at pdga.com if I want to change my avatar I have to give up having a signature line.  My signature line advertises www.brasscash.com so I'd rather not give up my signature line.

Can the webmaster change the image associated with that url?  For example, could you take the image associated with this url, http://discontinuum.org/forums/uploads/post-2-1116567778.jpg (http://discontinuum.org/forums/uploads/post-2-1116567778.jpg) and swap it with the other image, without changing the url?

I can e-mail you the image when I am home.  Or, could you just swap the two images listed identified in the first post?  And thank you for fixing the message board.  I thought maybe it was just sleeping in because I kept it up late last night trying to see if I could do this myself.

Thank you.  Fishy-fishy looks delightful at pdga.com.  It is a femmy dye but I really like it.

I noticed it was done when I got back from Cass Benton.  I sold $250 worth of discs from about 1:30 to 5:00 or so.  I never sell anything on a week day afternoon.  I'll have to work at the j-o-b a little harder so I can play hookey more often.

There was this rumor going around Hillsadale College that Kelsey had done something significant over the summer, had won some kind of world championship or something, so one of her acquaintenances asked her about that and Kelsey just said, It's all on the internet, my whole life is on the internet.  So the girl was googling Kelsey Brakel and wound up finding a lot of Kelsey's family on the internet.  I'm not sure if the girl figured out what Kelsey did last summer but she came to the conclusion, based on Jon's current avatar, that Kelsey has a very scary uncle!

FYI for all of you that have a link to your PDGA player stats in your signature - Please update the URL to the following:
http://www.pdga.com/player-stats?PDGANum=<your PDGA number>

So, as an example, if I had a link to my stats in my signature and I wanted the link text to say 'I'm the worst disc golfer ever!' it would look something like this:
I'm the worst disc golfer ever!
