Title: Brass Cash
Post by: Bruce Brakel on June 10, 2005, 01:31:26 PM
Kelsey and Kira counted the brass and rebundled it.  The current non-redemption is so high I thought maybe I needed to explain the concept:

Those brass coins you get at our tournament are good for cash if you want to buy stuff at the merch table.  I hope you aren't using the $5 coins at the video arcade!

If you are holding them because you wanted Orcs at Lombard, I'll have plenty of Orcs on Saturday at Crystal Lake.

If you are holding them because you want a Skill-Shot or a Discatcher Pro or a Discatcher Mini Basket, be sure to let me know so that I can order those and bring them to the event where you'll be wanting to cash in.

I have one Chainstar available for 350 brass.  Discraft sells these for $375 so 350 is a good deal, Brett.

I have some that I won't be able to use until Rockford.  Will there be a problem with that?

No problem.  They are good all year.

Diana made some strawberry jam last week.  You will be able to buy strawberry jam with brass cash!

We can't do entry fees with brass cash.  Our tournament financials assume that there is a uniform mark up on the merch, and it is that mark up that pays for sanctioning, insurance, pdga fees, trophies, and all the CTPs we put out.  Since the PDGA, Discraft and Innova all want real cash, we have to collect real at registration.

Does anybody like the Batman Begins disc I did?  I have time to make a couple more before the Crystal Cruise.

Are those real Michigan strawberries? Any other flavors?
I'll take a jar.

Real Michigan strawberries.  I have not figured out how to do cool dyed jam so all we have is red.  When blueberry season comes along we'll have blue.

We had a small brass shortage at Rockford because (a) we were doing two split-day tournaments on the same day and (b) some of you guys are sitting on a pile of brass.  Feel free to spend it.  If anyone is saving for a basket be sure to let me know what kind and when you'll be wanting it.  The current choices are the Innova Pro Sport, Innova Traveller, Ching Skillshot and Innova Mini Pro Sport.
