Title: side arm

I can throw a o.k. side arm and it usauly goes a strait 240 feet. I throw a 175 champian beast. is there any way i can get more distence, do i need a new disc, TIPS please.

well bob, you need to learn how to put more snap on the disc.  However, if you want real distance around 400ft. it's probably easier to throw backhand.

I played my first year entirely throwing sidearm. I got up around 300 to 325 feet. It took me the entire year to build up to that.

After a round of a temp course I realized I needed to change to backhand. Within a few months I was throwing the same distance with more control. Now i'm throwing 350+.

Try throwing backhand. There are very few primarily throwing forehanders that are competitive in this sport.

Forehand has never ever won Big D in the Desert, the de facto world championships of distance.  On any human the back muscles are just too much stronger than the chest muscles for the forehand to be as powerful.  

Mark Ellis throws forehand for one reason: he used to be a power backhand player and he blew out his right knee.  

Here is something a top pro told me years ago that is true, but unfortunately is also like a Zen koan:  the secrets to great distance are found in putting.  Brett understands at least half of this.
