I'm trying to find info about an impending tourny at the Chanahon course. Does
anyone know where I can find that info??

There is a link to a flier on that page. Channahon is a fun course.
Channahon is an awesome course. The wind is always blowing from one direction or another. Recently concrete tees have been installed and I think they are trying to have them all in by tournament time. Frank Grimes does an awesome job of "greenskeeping" throughout the entire course. All volunteer work too.
Attached is a JPG file of the course map I made for the scorecards.
Chanahon is a really good course in the J-Town area, in my opinion. For me, my best score there is -1 with alot of 4's. However, most people should shoot in the sub-par area easily. Some people may say otherwise, but I think that it is a really good place to have a tournament in the Joliet area.
This is a very fun course. Here are results from last year. 2 rounds of 20 holes.

We have a car full going down to Channahon on Sunday. Maybe someone can get a 2nd car heading down to play. I encourage everyone to play this course. Frank Grimes has done a ton of work & it now has cement tee pads.
If the weather looks good, I'll be playing this one. This course is great and it is always a good event thanks to Gary, Frank and others.
If anyone wants to ride with me from Deerfield post here or PM me.
I will be driving down as well from Streamwood. If anyone in the Bartlett, Schaumburg, Streamwood are needs a lift let me know.
Does anyone have an idea what format we are going to play at Homie's this year? 2003 was 2 of 18 and last year was 21 and 18.
Look in the Homie tourny page on this board, but the flyer I have says "2 rounds on separate 21 hole courses."

Looks like I'll be there tomorrow, playing Intermediate. I wish it was sanctioned, but I'm not ready to move up to advanced just because its sanctioned. I dont feel like getting killed again. I need to relax during tournaments and start playing more naturally before I will think about playing Adv again.
bring rain gear
Quotebring rain gear
eh, weather.com says PM showers, 40% chance of precipitation. At worst the second round will get wet.
it won't rain. trust me.
I played Sat. and during the players meeting Gary asked about sactioning the tournament for next year. About 50% said that would be cool and would agree on sactioning it. So, hopefully next year....
It was definitely a fun tournament. I had a great time and actually played decently for a change. I switched to straddle putting on everything inside 40' or so during this tournament and my consistency went way up. I was happy to shoot a few under par both rounds, considering I had never played the course before. Only one bogey all day. I really like the way Gary runs his tournaments, even if it isnt sanctioned. Hopefully next year it will be.
Ahhh! Wonderful weather this weekend for a tourney.
nice storm came thru mokena sunday hope all at channahon brough their rain gear
note to self: always bring an umbrella to a tournament if rain is remotely possible.
as we were getting out of the car my buddy commented that he didnt have a jacket
i offered him a rain poncho and i used a garbage bag to ward off the rain
note to self at least bring garbage bag

I thought I'd just add .....
I am helping Gary with some of the behind the scenes stuff for the tournaments down here. I really think that he's going to consider sanctioning the lower divisions. I've talked to him on various occasions on it and so have others, including the TDs of the IOS. So, if all goes well, it won't just be Channahon that gets a sanctioned Saturday event. It could be all .... and I think with Joliet hosting the Illinois State tournament .. all divisions
SHOULD be sanctioned. I plan on showing Gary the PDGA result page from IOS #7. Out of 90 players, 50 weren't PDGA members. One of his fears is if he sanctions, it will scare away the non-PDGA members because of the $5 fee.

Nice work! Gary definitely needs an assistant in the technology area.

Anthony,
No problem at all...glad I could be of some help. Everything looks good, I see you figured out how to edit the course layout. If you have any questions in the future, you have my number.
