August Club Meeting 8/24/05
In attendance: Allan S., Brett C., Brian K., Dan M., Jon B.
1. Finances
The Club has $1259 in a checking account. The Club stock is worth $1039.
2. Membership
After the Club Invitational on 8/19, there are now 66 current Discontinuum members.
3. Discontinuum Invitational 8/19/05
The event was a success with 23 total players. The cost to the Club for the $2 PDGA fees was $46. The plan is to do this again next year, possibly earlier in the summer.
4. IOS #6 Discontinuum Blast 9/17/05
The plan is to have 2 rounds of 22 holes for this 1 day event. The park district has approved the use of the baseball and soccer fields for temp holes. This is a trophy only event for Amateurs and will have an entry fee of $10. Payout and entry fees will be standard for pros. There will be merchandise available and brass cash will be accepted as usual. Everybody will have a shot at several CTP prizes, some of which will be donated.
5. Widdershins 10/29/05
The plan is to have 2 rounds of 18 holes for this unsanctioned Gateway sponsored event. Gateway is donating trophies again like last year. A glow round will follow for those interested.
6. Chains at Fairfield
The extra chains seem to be working well. Thanks to Brett and Mike C. for working on that.
7. 2006 Bag Tags
There will be a design contest to decide how next year's bag tags will look. Submissions are DUE by 10/31/05. Afterwards a vote will be conducted, open to all club members, to decide on the winner.
8. Volunteer to run leagues
Sunday leagues at Bevier are run by Brett and Mirth primarily. They both have busy schedules and have difficulty finding subs to run the leagues when they are gone. If anybody is interested on learning how to run the league so they will be able to sub, then please contact Brett C. or Allan S. This help would be much appreciated!
9. LCFP Proposal
A proposal was given to the LCFP to install a disc golf course with the help of Discontinuum. The LCFP Board will decide on whether this will happen in the near future.
