The good news is I actually won some cash by doing it...  Now that I'm on salary I got paid for my job AND for playing disc golf.  Not a bad arrangement

We only need 8 more players for a 3-some on every hole.

The putting contest will work like this.

There are 5 spots. You get 2 shots from each spot. Each spot has a point value next to it. The most points possible are 30 if all 10 putts are made. If there is a tie for fisrt place it will be a do or die playoff starting at the first spot.

You get 2 rounds from the 5 spots. Your best round will count.

1. 15ft. (1pt.)
2. 20ft. (2 pts.)
3. 25ft. (3 pts.)
4. 30ft. (4 pts.)
5. 45ft. (5 pts.)

The driving competition will work like this.

You will throw 5 drives. Your best drive will be taken. The top 5 players with the longest drive will get 2 more attempts. The best of the 7 (5&2) drives each player attempts will count for overalls.

so is that 1 shot from each spot per round then? or 2? If the 'most points possible' is 30 but only your best round counts, it sounds like 2 shots per spot per round.

I'm pretty sure it is 2 rounds, 2 shots from each spot per round. Best of the two rounds is counted. So, you'd take 2 shots from each position and add up your score. That would end round one. Then you'd take 2 shots from each position again for round 2.

Jon is correct. 2 shots from each of the 5 spots consists as a round. You get 2 rounds & take the highest of the 2.

Neal, how old are you & your brother. 16 & older is $15.00 for a membership which includes a bag tag. If you brother is 15 and under he gets a tag for $6.00.

We'll tee off at 9:30 so get there a little early to sign up.

I'll be at league tonight to discuss more if you'll be there.

It wil be fun!!

I think this is posted somewhere but I'm just confirming...

Since it is no entry fee and no payout, it is just one division, right? Assuming that is true, can we all play Open? Terry will need to play Open but since the rest of us won't need to decline the payout, then Terry will get points and the rest of us would get Open points which would be kind of cool. This would be especially cool if I manage to not come in last because then I could say that my pro debut was not DFL!!!  :D

There are 2 divisions, Advanced & Pro.

Pros will be playing for an entry fee. If there are 2 pros, they will decide how much they want to play for. If only 1 pro shows up, I might make his entry fee $1,000,000. It will be the first million dollar payout in PDGA history :D . There is a good possibility 2 pros are going to be playing though. Sean Butler said he would probably play.

If two pros play make their entry fee $1,000,000 but give them a cash player pack of, oh, $999,975 or so!  Let them decide on the size of the player pack.

If they price it low enough I might play pro.  Tell them that.  Bruce will add cash if they keep it cheap.

I thought I was for sure coming and bringing a junior buddy along with me but it doesn't look like he can go now.

Is my favorite caddy going to be there?  I hope traffic doesn't suck in the morning.  I have only played Libertyville once and I have never played Warren.  I assume the directions from the PDGA site are good for getting to Adler?

The PDGA directions are good. Once you turn at the light into the park drive around the pool complex counter clockwise until you get to the big parking lot toward the back. You'll see tee number one there and a bulletin board.

Bruce is making a midnight run to come to this one so I doubt that he is bringing any kids.

Warren is a fun course but I don't think you'll need any previous play to do well there. Except for the toboggan hill it is pretty easy to play that course the first time.

Hey brett or anyone I have an eye appointment tommarrow at 1:30 So Can I just play the first round at adler?  After that I got to go look for a new car since mine is broke down in my driveway.  Then after that I have to go to harper soccer practice from 5 to 7:30.  I can not go to any of the 6:00 leages because I have practice every day of the week.  I was going to start going to the sat leage at fairfield but my first game is this sat  and the bus leaves at 10:45.

Life Sucks with little time for disc golf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: Dont let my brother con you into telling you he is 15.  He has his licence and is 16.  Oh and his car actually works.

That is fine if only play the first round. You can also come to the driving & putting contest at Warren. With a 3-some on each hole I doubt the rounds take 2 hours. That means we'll be done at Adler by 11:30 by the latest. We'll start the field events  when we get there. Cya tomorrow.

Something's wrong with this computer.  I log in and then it logs me out whenever I try to post.

Kira just got back from grandma's house and did not want to go on a road trip.  She is coming to the Blast, but will be playing because she is in first place in her mother's division.  She is coming to the Fairwell in October too but I think that is USDGC weekend.

there u go nick.

dude, that was a very fun day despite the small cluster f*%@ with 8 and 9.  i love playing tournaments when i 'm supposed to be at work :)

terry miller won the putting competition by 1 point over spike.  i won the driving comp. also by a little over spike.  the winning drive was 396, but the best drives were afterwards when alot of people took another shot at it.  brett had a 440' shot  :o , kvn had 403', i had a 460' and i'm sure there were some others that i don't know about.

terry miller is the club champ!  congrats terry and nice shooting.  i hope u found the courses at least somewhat enjoyable.  granted, they aren't dretzka  :)   speaking of which, its about time to head to the milwaukee open!

how were the unofficial drives so much longer?  Did you have to throw into a headwind for the ones that counted?

Only the first 3 drives were 'official'. Most guys threw extra ones since the tape was out anyhow.

because we only had 3 'official drives' and weren't allowed any warmups due to time constraints.  some of us choked under the pressure.

Those drives were also slightly uphill & the wind conditions were not bad. I was finally able get one out 440 on my 4th throw.

Thanks to Jon & Bruce for getting the scores online.

Terry won $20 for winning the putting contest & Dan won $20.00 for winning the D competition.

Unofficial round ratings will go down as soon as Dave Gentry processes the TD report, probably by tomorrow if not today.  Then official round ratings will go up with the next ratings update shortly after the Blast.
