Title: Buffalo Grove Doubles Tournament
Post by: Mike S on August 27, 2005, 05:04:01 PM
So...  Who's playing in this tournament that the park district is running?  I didnt plan on it since BG isnt really a tournament-worthy course, but I found out a lot of decent area players will be there.  Just got a partner today.  No word at all on what payout structure will be or anything like that.  I'll bet its trophy only or something.  Either way, it will be fun to play competitvely at a course that I play almost every day.

nothing about it online that I've found.  Its next saturday (9/3) and there are signs for it all over the BG course.  I dont remember any details, but I'm sure I'll play there at least 2 or 3 times between now and saturday.

i heard it was like 15 bucks for 2 rounds of 9 holes.  last year it was like 10 for 27 holes.  i'll save my 15 dollars for other extracurricular activity.

10am Saturday, $15 for two rounds of 9.  Pretty weak but there are enough people I know playing, that I felt obligated to play in it too.  I play the course at least 3 times per week...  I had better shoot at least -7 both rounds or I'll be upset.

OK, maybe a dumb question---$15 per team or per person?

no idea.  It just says "$15" on the sheet at the course.  That was me above as a guest, by the way.

Nasty Nate and the Rifleman finished in first with a 15 down on 20 holes. They each won a $100 gift certificate to Dick's sporting goods. Maddisen and I shot a -7 which was a throw or two out of prizes. We deuced the first 5 holes but couldn't keep up the pace. We had a really good time. Saw a lot of people out there that we know and met a few new people which was cool. I invited everyone to the Blast and the new people that I met that I personally invited I think might come out for it.

1st $100 each to Dick's
2nd $50 each to Dick's
3rd $25 each to Dick's
Plus cheesy trophies like last year's suburban doubles. They also had plastic prizes for 4th through 13th place or something like that.
