Just wanted to invite anyone interested down in Rockford. If you've never played any of the Quad City courses, let alone five of them...come on down. If you need a place to crash...let me know, or post something on our website...I'm sure it could be worked out. It'd be great to see some of you guys out there.
Is there really NO interest in this down there? I've talked to Greg about it, and he told me he was going to post this on your board out at Anna Page....anyone plan on coming down? This is a great way for you guys to play five different courses that you probably haven't played before...try to win yourself some money...and probably get all kinds of drunk (like alot of players do at this tourney). If its a place to stay thats holdin' you back...there are tons of guys that would be willing to put you up so you don't have to pay hotel costs or anything.
Hell, get five guys in a van, pay five bucks a person...you'll have a blast for a day for $25 total.
KC,
Most of the members that read this board are in the northern burbs of Chicago & Southern WI. I'd love to go but cannot. I've played a ton of tournies & play pretty much only sanctioned events. I wish the QC area would host a PDGA event. Thanks for the offer. I'll get out to the courses in the near futrue.
Brett
i posted the info at Jolietdiscgolf.com
i think with a club T on the 17th, not many will make the trip
sounds like a great format
i have played genneseo and milan (last year)
doubles event in May is usually sanctions
i think i got ratings and points for last years event
Yeah, I understand the touring and sanctioning thing, but sometimes you just gotta go throw for fun...which this is all about. As far as the QC throwing more sanctioned events, I HEAR YA. Until recently we had no support from any of our cities, so of course we couldn't do much except for Camden doubles every year. Fortunately, we have a new group in the Quad Cities that is pushing the issue now and wants us to build a tournament into a super tour. We are starting that this year, so it'll be a small C tier on November 12. Eventually we'll have this as a multi-day, multi-course event...but this year it'll be a two round tourney at two different courses. Its a start.
I really do hope to get some of you guys down here, though. I've played at Rockford quite a bit. Bret, I've played with you a couple times now. I'd just like people to see where the QC is headed. Good things, thats for sure.

Sounds great. Has sanctioning been approved for that yet? Which two courses?
(edit) Never mind, I checked the QC website B)
For those that don't, or haven't, checked our website: Longview in Rock Island and Devils Glen in Bettendorf. If you've never played either course, which more than likely you haven't....seeing as how Devils Glen was finished about three months ago and Longview was finished last summer....they are BOTH included in the Ironman. (never stop campaigning) :D
