Title: Fairfield Work Day
Post by: CEValkyrie on October 06, 2005, 09:33:57 AM
This is a last minute deal with the park district. They took a long time getting back to me & I got an e-mail during the outage.

Anyway, i'm going to be out at Fairfield on Saturday at 8:00am. Anyone that wants to join me feel free. We are going to do some wood chips on 15, 16, & 17. We need to locate the marking stones on #1 & install another on #11. Several others need to be dug out a little. There is also a possibility of moving #8's basket on Saturday as well.

Where are you going to move it?  Further back and behind a tree?

Back down the hill slightly to the right. It will be just left of a big tree. We are going to be moving the tee pad back about 15 ft. In total the hole will have about 50 ft added.

Maybe a  Target in Clearing Where I think there is a BBQ grill now. It would add 50 feet without new tee pad.

That would give a good excuse to place target across the creek on #14 (add bridge) or Rope ! Pylons ! Levy !

if yanking out baskets lengthen 13 you can go about 180 feet additional.

any ways Great Job as always.

It would be nice to do some redesign of the course but the park district will not use the land across the creek. I've always thought if we could install 6 really good holes across the creek Fairfield could become a great course. That land across the creek is ideal for disc golf. I've walked it several times.

Is 8 the first really short one in the woods, a blind putter shot over a little hump?

(SIGH) there goes another hole I could possibly hit at Fairfield. I guess I will just urinate my $ into the ace fund. ;)

I had a dream last night that I did not get in the ace pool and I got an ace at Fairfield, but I cannot remember which hole it was.

Hole 8 is now 189ft. 56 feet were added to the hole. The stones & basket will be done first thing in the morning.

No.  It seemed real.  I was old and fat.  All the right body parts hurt.  Jon was pissed that I forgot to get in.  No one was flying.  No one was checking to see who claimed they had conciousness so we could figure out whose dream it was.

Wanted to thank Dan, Jon, & Mike for helping out today! #8 has been moved. We laid wood chips on #16 & #17. Ran out of time & only got around the basket on #15.

Just spent the day at Fairfield today.  The holes in the woods look awesome!!!  8 is a whole lot more fun now.  The "fairways" on 15-17 are outstanding!!!  I was at my brother's wedding on Saturday and couldn't come help, but Fairfield is my home course and I really appreciate the hard work you guys obviously put in.  Thanks!

i strongly suggeset that we avoid having workdays on the day before tournaments.

Given the number o tournaments you and Brett play, wouldn't that be like not having work days on days ending in "Y"?

true, it would've been pretty impossible this year.  i'm just suggesting that we avoid it in the future if possible.
