I was told there was a tournament there on Sunday morning. I was told to get there before 9.
I played in this tournament today. Where do I start? OK What a great day for disc golf. The weather was awesome with calm conditions early & the wind picked up in the afternoon. They had 9 extra portable holes set up to make the course 18. The extras were designed flowing smoothly with the existing course. A few of them were very tough. The word is that the park district there is going to put in 9 more baskets & make those permanent. They need it because every time I play there it is packed. I would guess there were close to 50 players. We played 18 in the morning & came back for another 18 in the afternoon. I played AM. There were 15 AMS. I shot a 54 for the first round. I just couldn't get any momentum going. I was in 6th & played in the 2nd group for the second round. Anything & everything that could go wrong, DID! I ended up losing a disc in the water, got stuck 10 feet in the tree, & threw OB onto a baseball field. Boy did I suck it up. I ended up +7 on the day for a score of 115. I ended up finishing 10th. The top AM score was a 101 named Chad Kraemer. The top ADV score was Mike K @ 98 (SPAZZ) the guy that won the AM @ Waukegan. The top Pro shot 86 & his nickname was Blaster. Besides my game everything was very cool. I played with some great players. They were very courteous & kind. That made the day a whole lot better.
