Title: Millburn School
Post by: Super Roc on March 09, 2006, 07:39:52 PM
ther is a school in millburn right off 45(i think the name of road is millburn too), but I drove past it one day and thought I saw a basket. So the next time Idrove past ti I payed close attetion and I saw at least 3 baskets, behind a soccer field. But ther were no signs posted or no entrance to a park. I dont know if its somones big ass backyard or part of the school, private or public. Its not listed in the pdga, and Icouldnt find anything online about it being part of the school. So if anyone knows or is brave enuf to park on the side of road and walk back there let me know----------------PEACE-----------CHRIS

There is a forest preserve on the southwest corner there at 45 and Millburn, MacDonald Woods maybe.  Is that where the baskets were?

At Millburn School, specifically at the soccer fields at Millburn Road and Crawford there are some baskets. There are six Disc Catcher baskets spaced out among the soccer fields.  No tees, no yardage signs, just some baskets out in the fields.  There was one guy at there flying a kite but no one else. It would be easy enough to set up some holes. Some of the baskets are quite a ways apart. It is nice for practice as long as no one is playing soccer.

Hey, I was just driving down Milburn road today up in the city of Milburn, and at the school soccer fields out there I saw a bunch of baskets set up.  Any idea if this is a new course actually or just a temporary set up?

Went to check this place out last night to get some practice in. It's only 3 min. from my house ^_^. Specific directions from Rt.132 and 45 intersection stay north on Rt.45 the 2nd stop light is Millburn rd. turn right go 0.5 miles to Crawford rd. turn left. I parked at the school for now. I only saw 4 baskets but I did'nt look around that much. One of the trays is laying on the ground, it's just missing the bolt. I plan on fixing it this week. For me I think it is the perfect practice area it has 2 wide open fields and the baskets are placed in a big rectangle. It is very secluded and peacefull  surrounded by cornfields, it's kind of like field of dreams but they built it and nobody came.

I'd like to know who built it and where they got the baskets.
Between Bevier, Round Lake, and Parkside, at least 4 baskets were stolen in the past three years.
Would Millburn school be the place to start asking?
