Title: Marshall Street
Post by: Mukey on March 23, 2006, 06:49:05 AM
Ok, I've just had the WORST buying experience EVER!

Ordered the MSDGC DVD set on 3/9, and it was shipped on 3/10. Unfortunatley they left off the floor I'm on in my office building, and it was returned undeliverable. So I e-mailed them and they sent it out again, wrong address again. This time I e-mailed them & asked if a refund was possible, they said no, I would get my DVDs by the middle of this week. Yesterday came & went & I e-mailed them & gave them a call. In my e-mail I just asked if I could pay for Fed Ex or some other shipping as these aren't getting to me. No response yesterday, then I get a call on my cell at 5:30 AM and it's Jason Southwick from Marshall Street. He says, and I quote:" F*ck you, stop f*cking calling me, and stop the bullsh*t" and hangs up! I'm trying to wake up & digest what I just heard, then try to call back & get hung up on twice.

Then I get to work & check my e-mail, and this is what was in there & my e-mail from yesterday to them:

Jason,

If this is not delivered this time & you WON'T
refund my money, then I would request that it be sent
via some method that can be signed for. This through
the regular mail 3 times is definetly for the birds. I
don't have a problem paying a bit extra to make sure
that they actually get to me, and am trying to be
positive about this, but I'm doubtful if I'll even see
the DVDs this month. This has really turned me off to
ordering anything through Marshall Street and I just
want this transaction to be done & over with.

Thank you

Chris

I would think this is an easy request to deal with reasonably and not call & e-mail f*ck yous around. They did put the 7th floor required on the 3rd package, but they still returned it undeliverable, which doesn't make sense as I get things delivered here vs. home all the time. Rest assured I will NEVER do business with Marshall Street again.

OK, addendum to this is I talked to Steven Dodge at the other Marshall Street phone number & he didn't even know what to say about Jason's response to me. He was very helpful & sorry that this experience has turned me off to Marshall Street. He's gonna ship my DVD set to my house.

I hope that Jason was just having a bad day. I have only talked to Steve at Marshall Street and never had any problems.

What a way to represent a company. That is just brutal. I almost ordered 3 DVDs from them yesterday. I'm glad I didn't.

I've worked briefly with Steve as well and had a very smooth transaction. Very courteous and generous to our disc golf club here at UWP. Sorry to hear about unfavorable experience.

Bad day or not, that is unforgiveable.  To send it to you in writing is moronic.  I have spent lots of $ on their site.  Guess it's back to Sun King and Ebay.

BTW, if anyone I work with did that to a customer, they would have been fired on the spot.  That is the only solution I want to hear to get me to spend any more money at Marshall Street.

Thankfully Steve was more than helpful and he sent the DVDs to me via Fed Ex at no extra cost, to my home address. Marshall Street is 50/50 Jason & Steve, so Jason isn't going to have anything happen to him other than Steve having a talk with him. I mentioned that to Steve in that I had talked to a Vinnie when I called, and if Vinnie had done that he would probably be fired, and the fact that Jason is a part owner is what possibly made him think he could do that. He agreed, but there wasn't really anything he could do. All I could do, that was legal & sane, was post here & on PDGA.com and let people know.

This is Jason Southwick and it's exactly as Chris tells it. I already mightily regreted my morning actions before these posts, which I deserve. But mainly from time to time time I hurt myself. I'd defend myself at PDGA.com but I've been banned there recently again for "personal attacks." I am definitely the bad cousin, and these incidents I create out of chemical imbalances with total temper tantrums is pure insanity, and I am done with them. I wash myself of my bad self, knowing words are so empty and now so many good deeds are required just to make up for today -- and that's somehow phony, too.

I apologize to Chris. It was truly a bad day for me, with actions I know are inexcusable.

Jason,

Thanks for stopping by to apologize. It takes a ture man to admit when they are wrong especially doing it in public.

The club has added some revenue since adding the link so this really hurts us as well.

I really feel bad for Chris. He's in an awkward position and did nothing.

I'm pretty tolerant since I see mistakes made daily where I teach and deal with at risk children. I had great service and i've heard of no problems besides this one. It seems many others have had good service as well according to the PDGA page. The DVD's have been great & I hope to get out to Marshall St someday.

Take care!

Yeah, that's pretty bad.  I have only had great experiences with Marshall St., and I plan to order from them again.  You won't be disappointed with the DVD.

While I understand if Chris can not forgive Jason for what he said, I hope others can. Jason, Steve and the others over at Marshall Street do a lot of good for disc golf. I feel for Jason and his struggle and 15 years ago I probably would not have had any tolerance for his behavior. Things happen. Experiences change the mind. Tolerance is grown.

I'm actually not totallly anti-Marshall Street despite my experience. It DOES say a lot about Jason that he would own up in public and also e-mail me personally to apologize. And Steve was very helpful. The situation has been taken care of & I should receive the DVDs tomorrow. I won't be ordering discs from them, but as long as the DVDs are as good as everyone says, I'll still want next year's also.

I too, don't know about spending more $ there, but it does take a hell of a person to own up to something so bad.  Judgement reserved for now, but I definitely value the apology.

Hey, if a club I am a member of has a link to a webiste where 5% of sales are given back to the club, and I've had a HORRIBLE experience, I figured the club out to know that they're linking to a guy who has the possibility to blow up. Tell me a F-you call at 5:30 AM wouldn't piss you off, eh?

I don't think he was bitching. I am glad that Chris let us know that someone who the club advertises for and supports has treated a fellow club member, or anyone for that matter, in an inappropriate manner. Its just flat out bad business. I hope this was a single event not to be repeated.

Ya know, I joined this club because everyone I met was really cool and supportive of each other.  What's the deal?

For the most part things are pretty cool. Every now & then there will be some difference of opinions expressed on message boards. This will blow by and we'll all forget about it in a week.

Marshall Street handling things very professionally after I contacted Steve. DVDs should be at my house after work. Let's just put this behind us & get to throwing-time(weekend)
