Title: Buffalo Grove Weeknights
Post by: myndcraft on April 14, 2006, 07:13:05 AM
Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone is up for a round or two at BG on the occasional weeknight.

I don't get home until about 7:00 during the week so I don't get to the course until 7:30. That leaves, as I found out last night (was anyone there btw?), enough lite to do about 9.5 holes before there is any concern for disc hunting.

Later!

Sure! I'm almost all the way healed up now. Are you living in the BG area now Jay or is that where you work?

Working downtown still *ugh*, but I'm living in Palatine. Right off of Lake Cook Road on Old Hicks between Lake Cook and Rte 12.

I work in Des Plaines so I make it up to BG after work pretty often...  Ive been playing night rounds there lately.  You dont even need glow discs.

I'm not Mike, but I did get out there last night at 7:30 and there were about 9 other people on the course.

Yea, it usually isnt too bad.  Sometimes on nice weekend days it gets full of teenagers playing in like 7-somes though.  If you go after work its never really bad.

Once the college kids arrive later in the Spring some nights it is almost unplayable but this time of year it is not too bad.

If I can manage to get out of work tonight I'll be there... wether or not that happens though remains to be seen at the moment.

I was hoping to make it out to Lombard for doubles today, but it already looks like I wont get out of work on time.  I'll be at BG after work tonight if it isnt raining.

SO many chuckers out on the course yesterday afternoon.  All playing in groups of like 8.  I had one group of two drunk idiots behind me, that were just yelling when everyone was throwing, and purposely throwing discs at people.  This course is more crowded than I remember...  At least you can still play it in the dark when nobody is around.

Got a skip ace on hole 7, at least.  Too bad it was a second throw ace.

I don't check this forum too often but I am out at BG a lot in the afternoons/evenings. I'm the guy that can usually drive but can't putt if my life depended on it.

I'll be out tonight (5/8) around 5:30 if anyone is interested.  I'm sure I'll be out for a long time.

We got 7 people to play doubles last night.  Hopefully there will be more people next week. PLayed one round from concrete and the second from alt's.  I will be there next week to do it again.

The ones we have set up right now:

1:  On the path alongside the parking lot, even with the bench
2:  Back and to the left of the current tee about 30 feet, between the trees
3:  Back and to the right of the current tee about 20 feet, on the treeline
4:  Back and to the left of the current tee, basically a tunnel shot that opens up into the normal hole
5:  Basically on a line between the pins for 4 and 5...  Big Anhyzer shot
6:  Straight back and a little bit right from the normal tee, pretty much doubles the hole length
7:  On the path, under the tree that hangs over the path (about 50 feet back from the usual tee)
8:  Right of the path, right where it bends to the right
9:  Next to the tennis court, just back from the corner

if you're doing it again next week, maybe you should post what time here.  I know several people who have said in the past that they would be interested in playing BG on monday nights.

Yea I put it in the league thread.  We are gonna try to run doubles every monday around 6 - 6:30.  We want to start as late as possible and still have light, because the number of chuckers on the course usually drops off significantly the later it gets.
