I played Pillage the Village last year.  It was the tournament i played last year that was not worth going back to.  The tournament was FUBAR from start to finish.

Club Dead usually runs a good tournament for pros and Ams.  If I play this weekend Kelsey and I might team up for the unsanctioned Club Dead K-Zoo Shoot-Out doubles, Oshtemo-Kalamazoo MI 269-279-1879, scott@clubdeaddiscgolf.com .  Singles on Sunday is sanctioned.  This is the tournament where we won the ace pool, Jon.  Oshtemo will be a 2008 Worlds course, for those of you who might be going to 2008 Worlds.

If there is not a mixed division, we might play the unsanctioned tournament at Jackson Community College.

i've had a couple people ask about what to expect for the rockford open so here it is - it is hard to predict exactlly what to expect when the GRABM guys hold an event.  i never seem to know about them until the week prior to the event, always hearing by word of mouth and i can only assume that is the way that other locals hear catch wind of it too because i dont even think they post their events on the kiosk anymore.  but every tournament seems to pull sometimes 20, 30, or 40 or more players so there will be players in all the divisions and you dont have to worry about the course filling up.  expect a moderate payout, in the past there have been nice plaques that go three deep in every division, and maybe a few CTP's too (give carl a reminder in the morning, maybe ask again at break).  the weather should be nice and the course does look good right now, so if you go i hope you have good time and shoot well!

Even the unsanctioned tourneys at Rockford are worth going to...cuz those courses are just cool, no way around it.  And hell, I'm tryin' to get a small QC caravan (those NOT going to the Majestic) to go to that...and then hit up Crape's Park or Sinnissippi on the way back...well worth the trip!

it'd be great to see you guyss make the trip, its a little dull playing a tournament with the exact same crowd that you play doubles.  unfortunately i wont be able to play sunday due to work but i will be stoppnig out in the morning beforehand to see what it looks like out there.   remind everyone that there are plenty of grills out there for lunch time cooking - should be a nice day for it.

good question - there were eight players, all local, that were there at what was supposed to be the players meeting time.  come 10am a few more showed that thought that doubles was going on, and they just walked in with the groups that had already played a hole or two.  GRABM bought three plaques at 12 a peice for nealry all the divisions and spent their time in the morning settng up four alternates per course, all for maybe 13 players.  i dont think that the ones that played really cared too much if others showed or not, but i cannot understand why they would put forth the money and efforts for something that was set up for failure - they didnt advertise on the course or outside the city, basically relying on regulars from years past to remember when the tournament is and to show up with the right amount.  one good thing did come of it though, a few of us sat down during registration time and went over designing a new website.  hopefully this comes to fruition sooner than later.  it'll give us a chance to expose the course more to people all over and be a vehicle for getting the tournaments and other club events to more disc golfers in the neighboring areas.

it was anybodies game in the open division.  the field was small so they decided to bring the fee down to 25 bucks, when they did drew moved up and whooped all the old growth grabm members by three stokes on the day.
