Has anybody heard when or even if this is going to happen this year?
Last I heard the TD was kind of on the fence about whether he was going to do it because of all the scheduling conflicts, but he did not want anyone else to come in and make it happen. Jon told him he should just pick a conflict weekend with some NT 300 miles away and Jon would work it out with the PDGA. I think the ill conceived thousand mile wide NT zones of exclusion may have intimidated a lot of TDs into not sanctioning or not running an event. Most TDs are not boat rockers. Some are, ;) but not most.

you're talking about rod f. right?
I believe Terry Batten runs the tourneys out thata way. I hope it goes through I want to play it, ankle and all that's my home course!

I was not really talking about the TD. I was talking about the stupid 1000 mile wide zone of exclusion. So far that deal only works for boat rockers. 8)

That is such a large exclusion range. Being in the midwest we are effected by almost 1/3 of the country. 1/2 the country if you exclude the west coast. Stupid! That is a real sign of genius!

terry hasn't run the tourney out there since the last century. he ran the 1st annual Sinnissippi Open through the 20th annual Sinnissippi Open, then handed it over to Rod Fritz.
Just goes to show the last time I played in a tourney I was 14 and he (Terry) ran it
I was in Sterling over the weekend. Played 36 holes. On Saturday when I went out they were running a best shot doubles tourney. Couple of the guys said that the Open was slated for September, but noone could give me a clear date. Thought I would let everyone know.
I hope it happens. Sinnissippi is a great park. If my memory serves, I liked the front 9 a lot better, but still a nice course. The "island" green hole has gotta be one of the most unique golf holes in IL.
Actually they DRASTICALLY lengthed like 4 of the back nine, and made better use of the natural obsrtuctions. So the back 9 is alot better
