after round 1 Neal is 12th in his pool, 8 shots behind the leader who notably was the winner of the bowling green tourney.

my picks to win in amateur are in Pool D though.  Billy Lund and Nikko Locastro are both pretty consistently high level players.  Nikko should win based on his results this summer playing in Pro NT events.

96 degrees in tulsa today...ouch!

With four pools of Advanced men, until the Big Sort [sometimes called the Great Shuffle], you really cannot tell who is leading unless you look at ratings.  The guy with the 1045 rating is off to a good start!

I think a lot of you probably know Frank Grimes (or you'd know him if you see him; he does a lot of work at Channahon)... he's pulled out to an 8-throw lead in Senior GMs!! couldn't happen to a better guy.

Go Fraankie! (Sly Stallone voice)

Frank's a really nice guy & Channy wouldn't be what it is without his efforts. Hope he takes it.

I feel bad for the guy that was shown in the pictures that broke his arm yet he's still out there playing.  At least for him it's his non-throwing arm that is broken ;)  it's a full arm cast too, never fun!

The club and Illinois players are making a strong showing.  Neal is doing great, and Todd and Bryan are doing great in juniors.  Gary Camp, who played in IOS #2 and won BG intermediate is leading advanced masters. Frank Grimes looks to have an insurmountable lead in senior grandmasters.  I spoke with Jim Basset and he said the courses are all championship and all brutal.  He compared them to Ox-Bow, but thicker rough and nasty snakes. On one of the courses water comes into play on 6 of the holes in a row. Very tight fairways, low ceilings, very few easy deuce holes, in other words all championship courses. He also said the weather has been stinking hot and sometimes very windy. Not the cool breeze but a blast furnace breeze. But he said he is having a very good time.

Now its *17* after 5 rounds. Frank just turned 60 this yr I think and he's in great shape anyhow, but he's about to lap the field against those old guys. :walk:

Nice shooting by some local guys at Am Worlds!

The Club had 2 guys in the Finals for the <19 division, Todd Fanning and Schuboy.  Todd almost pulled out the title, nice shooting guys!

Neal shot a solid tourney and finished pretty high in a 250 player field.
