Title: x-out (factory seconds)
Post by: Younk on September 06, 2006, 07:54:58 AM
What are your thoughts on x-outs?

I've heard that there is no difference in flight, etc. but that was from someone selling them online.

I have tons of x-outs and truly believe that all of them are as stated, just simply a mis-stamp

I've got a couple of X-out Rhynos and an Eagle and they're all good.

Every one I have ever seen was either a mis-stamp, or it was a champion disc that had a small visible bubble in the rim.  Never noticed any effect on the flight from either one.

I used to carry an Innova X-out that had a huge dimple in the rim.  Maybe it was a Monster.  Flew like a Monster.  Looked like a freakazoid.

I would categorize the x-outs that I've had as "not exactly tournament plastic" but for backyard practice or just plain chuckin' they're fine.

Anyone else agree with this?

I'd more agree with Mike. Usually they're either a mis-stamp or have bubbles in the rim. I've got 2 X-out Rhynos, an Eagle, and a Clear X-out Starfire. They all seem to fly fine, but granted I don't have any with a dimple.

Every one I own is just a mis-stamp and fly just like their more expensive siblings

I've bought some drivers with obvious big dimples and my experience is that they have more low speed fade.  It could just be me though.
Most x outs I have seen have been in pretty good shape though.  The x out champ rocs I have just have minor molding flaws on the rim.  Nothing serious at all.

x outs are cool but i think the best deal i got was the z plastic misprint deal from discraft. so many disc at such a great price you get to try them all and only wrong is some weird colors in the plasitc or the hot stamp is f"ed up. just my 2 cents at 2am
