So i threw an inferno around today at work. i threw it at work with the kids and with my friend so all of us were newbies. Me and my buddy each bombed it over 300 feet perfectly straight. the kids got some really nice distance as well. Im pretty new to the sport so i cant give it a really technical review. I can say that disc is perfect for someone who is starting out and wants a driver that they can control. This disc was a prototype disc given to me so i dont know what the price is gonna be on these bad boys. If anyone else has thrown one i would love to know what your impression was.
I have a proto... It flies like a little bit faster pro starfire for me. I was throwing it as far as my wraiths... It moves just a tiny bit slower than a wraith but doesnt fade as hard. I could definitely use it as my max distance driver. I'll wait to see how good the production ones are before I start buying them up, though.
Inferno's are listed at $18 on Quest's site. By comparison, their Scream line discs are $16. I was going to order a bunch of stuff from Quest this month, but now that my wife's SUV had the starter break and my dad couldn't repair it tonight, who knows how hefty the tow and dealer fix will be. I just hope they will be willing to use the starter that we already bought for it.
I don't know what my cost would be to pick these up, so I don't know what my price would be yet.... but if I get a bunch of pre-orders on the discs I'd be willing to go ahead and put together an order. I can get Inferno, Scream, the Odyssey Series, and possibly even some of the Gateway line. I'd have to contact them to find out if I can order some of those models from them or not. They are selling them on Quest's website now (wizards, blaze, saber, element, element-x, and spirit)

some of these Quest discs might fly decently, but certainly no better than Innova/Discraft discs. Their quality control sucks, so your going to find it difficult to get consistent discs from 1 inferno to the next. So I guess I'm not understanding the logic behind anybody buying these discs??? Please stick with you wraith or surge or whatever it is you have been throwing.
Innova and Discraft arent all that consistent in flight, just appearance. I have had 4 different star Wraiths in the same weight range and they have all flown differently. Ive heard people say the teerex is every kind of stable. And thats not even taking into consideration the difference in colors.
I'm not throwing brand new discs in tournaments anyways... I need a good 2 weeks or so to really learn any new driver before I'm fully comfortable with it. Even if its an exact duplicate of something I had before. I think any S/D/DX discs are pretty consistent, though. I can pick up a new DX Teebird, D Buzz or S Wizard and know exactly how its gonna fly.
this disc works and it is made localy that is all. god bless IL O0
I was given a couple new production Infernos yesterday.. I have been working too much to get out on a course but I have to say they look really nice. They feel good in the hand and are definitely improved over the proto plasticwise. If they fly the same as the proto I was throwing, they will replace my wraiths for sure. My two distance discs are gateway and discraft, weird.

Sorry Dan, I have to start to disagree with you on this. I received an Inferno the other day, and while I'm still learning this disc, it is by far outdistancing anything I have thrown before. I can throw a 170g Wraith about 220'-250'.. it's probably more disc than I can handle, but I was hitting 300' with a 175g Inferno today. I was throwing at Lombard (only 10 of the 19, start at 9, go to 13, then go back to 4 and play through 8 ). and I came within 20' of the basket on hole 4, overthrew hole 5, overthrew hole 7 (almost aced it but it started to slightly fade just before the basket... was chain height too), longest drive I've ever had on 8, helped me have a good shot for 3 on 12, and overthrew 13. I haven't overthrown ANY of those baskets before with any other disc in my bag. All of the overthrows were at least 20' beyond the basket. It also felt like I was using less effort. Eventually I'll start to work on controlling the disc and doing different things with it (like not overthrowing), but I wanted to let loose on a bunch of holes.
One thing I do have to be careful of is flipping the disc. When kept straight, it stays VERY straight, and then a slight fade at the end. If you have a slight anhyzer on it though, it seems to follow a beast path or even slightly less stable than that, possibly a sidewinder path. It doesn't fade back as hard as either disc at the end if you do send it on an anhyzer turn. I haven't tried the disc for big hyzer shots yet.
The rim looks a lot like the Beast's rim as far as it's not curved all that much on the underside like an Orc or Wraith or any other really overstable disc. I also like how the rim is scored so that you get some extra grip.
What type of plastic is the Inferno being produced in?

The plastic that I have is their Evolution line plastic, but it doesn't feel quite like the Evolution Sabre that I have. The pricing sceme puts the plastic type right smack in the middle of Champion and Star, and the disc definitely feels more like a Star-like plastic than a Champion. I haven't whacked the disc into any trees yet to find out if it is as durable as a star disc.
a buddy of mine has these (http://search.stores.ebay.com/Dynamic-Discs_inferno_W0QQfciZQ2d1QQfclZ3QQfsnZDynamicQ20DiscsQQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsaselZ189230667QQsofpZ0) Inferno's in stock and up for sale. Even if you don't buy you can at least check out what they look like. If you can see the discoloration around the outside part of those black discs... it's there because that area of the disc (top and bottom and inside where you place your fingers on the power grip) is all scuffed. That's about the best way I can describe it. Adds a TON of grip. I place my thumb further in on the disc, but still, it has a great feel ripping out of my hand. I unfortunately won't be able to order a stock of this stuff for myself until November at the earliest.
I have thrown many versions of the inferno and this discs does fly very far with a tail wind. I met dave and Mr Peterson right after they made the first run of them and had many drives 500' plus. One of them was one yard shy of 600' . They go very far with a good tailwind, but are hard for good control being they are kind of understabel but great for beginers or novice players looking for a little extra D. They are not really that good for face wind drives.
So is anyone we know locally have these in stock I would like to get a hold of one?
I have some I will sell you. 10 bucks a piece. All are like champion to star like plastic and they bomb.
