Title: Innova DISCatcher Traveler
Post by: stpitner on October 03, 2006, 12:46:51 PM
I just picked up my first Innova DISCatcher Traveler today, and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with these things.  I haven't tried to putt into the basket yet, but I like the first impression that I have of the quality of the basket.  The bag really helps, and hopefully it will not tear quickly since the basket is designed to be carried around frequently.

The feature that I was surprised with the most is the feet of the basket.  I was worried that since it was only 12 pounds that the wind would frequently knock it over.  Innova has a resolution for that with this basket because there are small rings that are attached to each foot of the basket where you can pound stakes into it and hold it firmly down.  The stakes also come with the basket.

Anyone else use one of these heavily and can comment?  It would also be interesting if you have used this as well as a skillshot.  I may buy one of these for myself down the line as well because so far it is a lot quieter, and would be nicer when throwing outside my apartment.

We use one on our temporary course.  If what you want a basket for is so you don't have to bend over after you hit whatever you were aiming at, they are great.  If you want a basket that you can carry a ways, they are good for that too.  They don't catch like any other disc golf basket.  But if you practice hitting the center post, the skill will transfer to any other basket.
