IOS #2 @ Lombard, IL will be an Advanced Amateur qualifier for the United States Amateur Disc Golf Championships in Milford, MI. You must play advanced at Lombard & finish in the top 20%. This is one of the best Amateur tournaments in the country played on the famous Toboggan course.
Fri-Sun, Jun 15-17, 2007
You can find out more information there-> www.amnationals.com
I played this tournament in the fall of 2005. This course is awesome with some major elevation. It is very demanding and very long. It is ran professionally and there are some fun games at the end of each day. There is free food at the tent all day as well. If you get the chance go play this event!
There have been quite a few others from our area attend. Got any thoughts on this event?
This might be a dumb question, if you play trophy-only advanced that day and happen to make top 20%, is that ok? or do you have to pay for full advanced and make the 20% to be considered.

It's a good question. Yes, you would qualify.
Also, you must be a PDGA member as well.
Is there a trophy only option for the pro division as well? I may consider that for the USDGC qualifying event if that is the case. :)
Yes, and the trophy-only for the pro division is pretty cheap, $15, minus $5 if you pre-register.
*weeps* I'll be in Florida during AM Nationals (and I'm from Detroit) *weeps*
I think on this board the proper coding for that is
[emotion=weeping] I threw my First Run Buzz into the lake. [/emotion]
This is just a reminder that Lombard is an Am Nationals Qualifier. If you get the chance to play do not pass up the opportunity. If you've played this event can you post here about your experience?
I played the event in 2005. The Toboggan course is definitely one of the premier courses you will ever play. Constant HUGE elevation change, demanding placement shots, and distance are all big elements. Its one of the most fun, competitive events I've played and would recommend playing it if you are looking for the ultimate disc golf experience. They really take care of the amateur players more at this event than any other.
Mostly I liked the tourney cuz I get hungry alot and they had a constant supply of free food at tourney central and on the course throughout the 3 days.

Please make sure to feed Michler you don't want to see him pass out. It is not a pretty sight.

Hey Mirth or Brett,
Can you please switch me from IOS2 to IOS3. I won't be able to make IOS2 due to a wedding. Damn weddings always get in the way of disc golf!
I still owe you the adv fee minus $10.
Thanks.
I've got permission to use [what I think is] some really cool artwork for custom discs for IOS #2 or #3. For the other we might use some artwork we're getting through fivetone.com, but I'm still waiting to hear on that. Anyway, what's good to go is a Romulan warbird. Kelsey and I need to clean it up just a little.
Doug - I got you covered.
thanks, Mirth.
I was wondering if you would have crystal buzzes for ios 2
I ordered Cryztal Buzzzes for IOS #2. Cryztal, FLX, X and D. I should be fully Buzzzed for IOS #2. I also ordered three cubes of Innova stuff. I'll have more stuff than I can put out!
good, now there will be somethign to spend the discraft dollars on. u should get more ESP and FLX surges too.
Got the Surges, I think. Don't have any of them yet. I'll check on the order and on my discs in stock to be sure.
I'd take a bunch of 177+ FLX Buzzz's off your hands if you have them.
Bruce do you have any FLX challengers?
I will have FLX Buzzzes but I don't know what weights they will be. I might have some FLX Challengers. It depends on the timing between when I pick up my stuff and when they release them to the general disc selling public.
and hopefully they go to the general disc selling public soon becase FLX stuff is very popular! :)

Can you be "fully Buzzzed" without ESP Buzzzes?
once again. my travels will preclude me from playing in an IOS tourney. (or maybe i'm just scared). i'll be in kentucky/tennessee for a while, and will have to miss lombard, darn it. so to all that play next weekend; best of luck and have the good fun. hopefully i'll be able to play in the rest of the series.

I'll have ESP too.
Any DGA Rogues?
I'll have DGA Rogues for IOS #2. I hope to have the DGA Hurricane for IOS #3.
And if Dan's take on the Rogue is that it's nothing different from the Star Wraith or Star SL or whatever, at an IOS tournament there is the $5 difference! ;D
Here's my list of USADGC qualified players. At the quad cities thing last weekend they qualified 12 [I think] but went down to 22nd place [I'm pretty sure.] They qualify the top 20%, but they skip over pre-qualified players. So we have a good chance of qualifying down to 12th place.
This year Todd is not letting us idiot TDs hand out official invites, because we all screwed that up last year. So I'll be handing out unofficial invites. I'll do my best, but whether you are in officially is Todd's call.
Played Madison this morning and the course was all marked up with flags i'm guessing for this weekend...even had a drop zone for hole 3 and everything was easy to navigate...played some from the blue flags and some just from the concretes...good luck to all who are playin this weekend
for future reference- what time do you guys usually shut down the pre-reg?
Dana, it's usually at Noon the Friday before the event
Prereg always closes at noon on Friday. It should also say that on the product page. Was it missing?
Is the final list of names posted for pre-reg on PDGA? I don't see my name up there...
Don't stress it Jason. You're on the prereg list that was given to the TDs today.
Thank you! :)
