Title: Innova releasing 6 new discs on Dec 7th
Post by: stpitner on December 04, 2006, 10:13:06 AM
Wow.

I just read that Innova is set to release 6 new discs on December 7th, all in star plastic.  The list includes:

Star Max (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/starmax.html)
Star Eagle (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/stareagle.html)
Star Gator (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/stargator.html)
Star Spider (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/starspider.html)
Star Aviar Driver (Big Bead) (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/staraviardriver.html) (This is the KC/JK mold)
Star Rhyno (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/starrhyno.html)

The Star Max is as suggested, a faster firebird.  I just feel bad for all the beginners that go out and pick up that disc as their first disc.

The big bead Aviar is probably going to be a big hit.  I look forward to the Star Eagle, Gator, and Spider.

Too bad I won't be able to order more product anytime soon!

Too bad they aren't releasing the Star Viking yet, even though they've got it on the '06 catalog.

Is it just me, or are they releasing too many mid-ranges in the Star plastic? Get the drivers out first, IMHO.

in innova's defense, the only mids that they had released in star to this point have been the Stingray and Shark.  Once these releases hit, they will have 13 drivers, 4 mid-ranges, and 4 putters.

Unless you're considering stuff like the Leopard and other Fairway drivers as more mid-range instead of drivers?

Nah, I'm not counting the fairway drivers. I just wanted a Viking.

The putters in Star are pretty much mid-ranges anyway.

Plus I haven't been as wowed by Innova this year as in year's past. Seems like their marketing is a bit screwy, but that's just the 'ol noodle-arm (to use Bruce's phrase) talkin.
