Bag tags will be distributed on 01-07-07. The process will be held after leagues approximately 12:30PM & at the club meeting at Pizza Hut in Waukegan.
We are using the same process as last year. We are rewarding the paid club members that support leagues in the cold. If you don't like to play in the cold you have a crack at the next grouping of tags at the club meeting.
Here is how the tags will be distributed.
75 Tags have been ordered.
A)
Anyone who has paid their 2007 membership and plays league on 01-07 will draw a ticket. You can pay dues that day & be eligible for the drawing.
Here is the scenario. If there are 10 paid members present, there will be 10 tickets in the hat. Each ticket will represnt tags 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. You match your ticket to the corresponding bag tag.
B )
Anyone not present but has paid their 2006 membership will participate in the 2nd drawing at the club meeting at Pizza Hut in Waukegan.
We will cotinue to use the scenario above. If there are 10 paid members not present there will now be 10 tickets in the hat. Each of these tickets will represent tags 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20. The club officers will be selecting the tickets. They will be handed out at a later date or mailed to those members who are not in the area often.
C)
Using the same scenario above. The last 55 tags are still available. As membership/tags are purchased in 2007 they will be handed out.
Here are the names of those who have joined in 2007. They will be getting 1st crack at 2007 tags. For those not at league or the meeting tomorrow they will be mailed out in the next week or so.

Hmm how would one go about getting a tag? I just sent my money in to mirth last week so it's definitely a little behind. If I'm able to show up tomorrow would I be able to get a tag?

If you show up tomorrow and you've paid you'll get a tag via the process in the 1st post. If you have sent a check we'll take your word for it and you'll get your tag if you are there.
If you are not there tomorrow you'll get your tag mailed to you.

I have 21 tags to be mailed out. Those will probably go out Thursday afternoon.
I need these members to e-mail me at president@discontinuum.org with an address. The list has been revised since last night. I have most addresses but want to verify them prior to sending out tags. There is a * by the members whom we don't have an address.

I actually knew a guy in Lockport who called himself "Dude" and would refer to himself in third person when speaking. When he was talking to you, he'd be like: "dude!, Dude was on his bike going about 90 and this cop pulled out after me..."

As designer of the tag I was disappointed to see that modifications had been made. The number plate on the basket is not in the center of the basket, nor is the basket centered on the tag. This is different than that of which I submitted (refer to tag voting topic: http://discontinuum.org/forums/index.php/topic,2890.0.html).
Just thought I had to say something because I noticed this right away as I looked at it and thought, did I really do that? Then I double checked my submission and said, Nope. It's different.

i sent an email to the tag people after discovering this and have yet to hear back. future runs of the tags will be correct.
I noticed it to and wondered why everything wasn't centered correctly.

Play for tags for fun. If you decline, you're a wuss. Winner gets the lower numbered tag.
Are challenges automatic against club members in your group in a tournament? Against all club members in the field in a tournament?
For tournaments, sometimes club members will get together afterwards and exchange tags, sometimes not. Its just a matter of somebody taking the initiative to get it together. I will always trade tags if somebody wants to, but I usually don't care enough to go around asking people to do it.

depending on the tournament, if there is a mass collection of tags ahead of time (like at pretty much every IOS in 2006) then the tags get distributed in the afternoon based on total score. if there is no mass challenge then the generally accepted rule is that on card challenges are obligatory. cross card challenges are fine too, like amongst friends, but on card challenges must be settled first.
non tournament play tag challenges are optional. the true spirit of casual tag rounds is to make your non tournament rounds worth
something and to give incentive to play your best game all the time.
I also mentioned this on the Cracked Plastic thread responding to Tenny Schimo Fan:
Tags being in play at any non-IOS tournament will take some initiative from someone to either collect them or talk to other club members before playing to let them know to meet at the end to exchange tags. On-card challenges are obligatory and shouldn't be that hard to complete. I will collect tags during the lower days of the IOS that I play. Other tournaments I don't worry about it as much. During the IOS it (I hope) helps boost memberships to collect them upfront so everyone who comes by the Merch/Scorers table can see what they're missing. (the message board, club discounts, FREE club tourney, etc.)

Brett or whomever is the right person to ask, I threw in my tag at IOS #1, but had to leave early and never reclaimed up a tag. Can I pick up the bottom tag in Rockford on Saturday and go from there? Thanks.

Buy a membership and you get a numbered bag tag. Challenge someone else or at some events there are organized group challenges. Best score of the challenge gets the lowest number, next best gets second lowest number, etc.
