Title: Big Chill
Post by: tacimala on January 05, 2007, 04:44:09 PM
I saw some discussion about this tournament in a few other threads, but not in one of it's own. Via the website I can see that Barry Schultz will be attending so that's pretty cool. Is this event unsanctioned? I may consider going up there and playing open/making a donation if it is in fact unsanctioned.

Here you go. This is an unsanctioned event.

Should be a great event..  we got the cafeteria open up stairs to get food, so there should be more of a choice..  also, our own hall to hold everything at, just on the side of the union, where the bathrooms are...  Beer (sierrra nevada), Holstens baskets in the rafflles with lots of other goodies..

Going to be an event worth attending, don't miss this one.

6 extra holes are to the left across the street right after hole #14..  there are flags out there.

14a road is OB softball diamond is in play.  about 340ft.

14b 220-250ft  basket is on edge of hill, going left slightly will roll to bottom about 30ft down.

14c top of hill to bottom left corner..  about 495ft.

14d short 250ish

14e playing to the side of the hill..  plays about 240.

14f tee off by tennis courts and throw to between 2 pine trees...  no flag where basket is going... but it is going to be on the drainage grate.

hope that helps...

Is it just me or are entries way down this year compared to previous years? A little over a week to go and both saturday and sunday are under half full?

it will be great to see carla and barret kick some ass tho. go ladies!

Might be a couple of factors for decreased attendance:

1. More sanctioned tourneys during the winter.  People are saving there $ for sanctioned events.
2.  There has been a falling out between some players in SE Wisconsin that may take some time to heal.
3. Wisconsonians are having a tough time dealing with the Bears advancing this far in the play-offs and aren't showing their faces.
4. Bears fans are stayed glued to their TVs fearing that they will miss some drivel about the Bears, such as Robbie Gould's bunyon on his plant foot.
5. Hopefully the Saints will pull through and reasons 3 and 4 will no longer be valid.

So are Brian Kielar, Serg, Joe W. and myself chopped liver? We all tied for third and represent Discontinuum. Not to mention all the other FIBs that took it to em'! Nice ace Schuman.
