Attached is an initial outline of the 2007 Tour.
Why are Wisconsin and Indiana events on the tour?
IOS#1 is part of the Illinois Open Series, it just happens that we used a border community course for the starter event of the series.
Cummings' event is probably included because its a large draw for IL players?
I'm sure Brett will have all the answers.
Mirth is correct on both responses.
Brian Cummings runs events in IL and the Homie is one of the larger events in this area. The majority of IL players will be there. It will be part of the Illinois Tour for points.

And if you haven't been to a Homie event, it's definitely worth the trip. I look forward to playing the courses again only with permanent baskets in place on the East side instead of all the temps! It's also not that far outside of IL, so inclusion with the Illinois tour is a welcome item :)
Can we add St. Louis as well then?
I hope to make it to as many events as I can this year, haven't really done more than 5 or so in the past. And no, I haven't been to the Homie, I really haven't made it to any events to the east of us which is a shame.

As creator & dictator of the Illinois Tour I have to say no. If the majority of IL players were going to be participating i'd consider it as a points event. IOS #2 at Lombard will be a points event and Am Nationals qualifer. St. Louis conflicts with this.
IOS #1 @ Kenosha will not be a points event for the Illinois Tour. It's just listed on the page since I help run the IOS.
That's fine. I just wish we had some more tournaments down south here though. Well, I guess you need courses first. Thanks for finally putting this Tour on, hopefully there are more people than me excited about this.
Well there is Springfield & Hamilton. I read on the PFC forum that there might be a Greater Peoria Open again but I think it's still up in the air.
I would play both Rockford & IL States since those 2 are the biggest events in Illinois.
I am trying to get an event started in Bloomington/Normal as well. We'll see what happens.
I would like to play Rockford, but always have had something conflicting. I have played Anna Page though.
Is the new course in Bloomington good?
The place where we need to have a tournament is Eureka. Phenomenal course.

Rockford has changed dates so that might help.
The new coure in Bloomington is fun to play.

Yea-aahh! (Little John voice), that would just be awesome. I offered my help if they wanted it. Peoria has the best courses in the state and the lack of recent PDGA sanctioned tourneys down there is a bummer; but saying that, I know they are a LOT of work.

Attached is an initial outline of the 2007 Tour. I'm hoping to have this complete by the end of March. All point information and select events will be identified.
Brett, maybe it's just my computer but I don't see a difference between the bolded (tour) and unbolded (non-tour) tournaments. They all look non-bolded to me.

None are currently bold. I've been waiting on Gary to get his events up. I plan to announce points and locations prior to April 1st.

Ah, sorry. I saw the bold thing in the pdf but obviously did not read your post very well!
LOL! I just really read through the outline & saw that there's a tourney in Summit on 7/22. Hope they groom that course a bit beforehand.
I hope to win the Summit Open
How many do you think will end up being bold?

Approximately 6 to 7 events.

If you want your event included, you should make Brett some cookies or other home baked goods. ;D
What is his favorite kind of cookies?

Oh, no...wait. That would be if
I were choosing the events for the tour! O0
anyone know any dates for gary lewis tourneys this year? like illinois state championship?
just based on past years and the available dates this year, I'd bet on June 9/10 and July 14/15 for the Lumber Cup and IL States. But obviously that is not official.
Gary just called on Friday. I'm trying to get in touch with him. His dates should be out soon.
I really enjoy playing those two tournies Gary Lewis runs. Always fun, great turn out, and good pay out. I like playing Joliet and Mokena.
You have IOS #6 on 10-19 and 10-20. That is Friday, Saturday. Should be 20 and 21.
You have IOS$4 on 7-8 and 7-9 which is Sunday, Monday. Should be 7 and 8
You have the Discpatch Argus Classic on 8-19 and 8-20. This is Sunday and Monday. I do not know these guys but assume they are running their tournament on Saturday, Sunday-- 18 and 19.
What's the over/under on when Illinois States gets scheduled? :D
Just in case you aren't sure, tomorrow's Thursday, you have to go to work. ;D

Thanks Dave!
Prior to posting I accicentally deleted my most recent file. I used an older one which obviosly was not correct. I just updated a new one.
IL States is close to getting done. Gary called me 2 weeks ago and I have called him every day i've been home. I can't get ahold him and the machine must not be working.
Hey Brett, you can add www.discgolfalley.com as the website for the Don't Be Fooled tournament on April 28th. That's the clubs web page and it mentions the tournament there.

Will do.
The updated 2007 Illinois Tour has been attached to the 1st post on this thread.
Lumber Cup, IL States, & Channahon have been added. All the info for Lumber Cup and IL States is correct. There might be a change in tier & TD for Channahon.
There is also an event down in Centralia, IL that popped up on the tour page.
Peoria may be revived as I was contacted today by a new TD down there.
Are you talking about Dana Vivich, Brett?
QuoteThere is also an event down in Centralia, IL that popped up on the tour page.
Gateway Open, June 16-17 in Centralia. Wow, I snoozed on this...I'm a displaced St. Louisan, and I actually have "TD-Gateway Open" on my disc golf resume. From what I hear the course is tough, a Davey Mac special. Plus...it sits between the DGLO & the KC Wide Open on the schedule. If Dave has much in the way of a payout for this one, he might have some Big Boys in attendance even if it is a "B."
Centralia would be a good spot for tour event in the future, but I'm not sure if this is even on the radar for Illinois players. The Gateway was the big St. Louis event for a number of years, but at some point the club gave the name to Dave to link in with his company and changed the big club event to the St. Louis Open. When I hear "Gateway Open," I think Missouri. Still, it should be a good event for anybody who can work it into their schedule.
This is also the same weekend as USADGC.

how are the overall points calculated? like the IOS series or something based on what place you come in rather than number of peopl?
do we have standings out yet or am I just impatient

I'll give you one guess.

Added
Inaugural Bloomington Normal Open
Dark Side of the Moon
when will the final results be out? i suppose a report of what happened at homies may be necessary for accurate results

I doubt that Brian would hear you from here.... ;)
FINAL 2007 TOUR STANDINGS ATTACHED
(actually 2008....)
Brett, you passed around a list for 2008 events at the meeting. I didn't copy down the dates for Lumber Cup and IL States; are they more or less 'official'?
those were some of the dates that aren't official and were marked in red. According to Brett those are just the dates he is saving for them in case Gary does contact him. I don't want to post the dates to prevent confusion. Brett if you have more info or want to go ahead and post what weekends you are reserving for Gary feel free to follow up.
