Waitlist is a misnomer. Its is actually a notification list. I missed the cut of invitees and will sweat out the second wave of registration. I am only on the cusp of old age. My points were gathered as a master but I will play as a grandmaster. Accordingly, I needed 400 rather than 140 points to qualify. Next year, as a fully aged AARP eligible codger, I should be ok unless something screwy happens this year. PDGA will send those on the notification list a message telling them that open season has begun for registering. I still want to play and will register as soon as I hear from them sometime in May. I received this e-mail from PDGA:
Hi David,
Thank you for submitting your name for the notification list for the 2007 PDGA Worlds. Your name has been added to the list. Let me give you a quick summary of how the process will work this year.
The list of original invitees (available at the website) will be sent an invitation package (around March 15th) either via email or direct mail for those without an email address. They will then have 60 days to register before we open registration to all current and eligible 2007 members. Then, around the 15th of May, the names we collect, yours included, will receive an email containing the link to the invitation package. If no email is provided a hard copy will be mailed to the home address we have on file. Registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis so make sure you act fast! Your info and payment must be received to secure your spot.
Feel free to contact me if you have further questions.
Have a great day! See you at the Worlds!

I'm not sure that matters. Did you ask them about that? I'd think that since you're officially old now that your points would count in the officially old division.
How do I get on the list?

How do I get on the list?
Go to http://www.pdga.com/documents/2007/2007invites.php
If you click on the Waiting List Information, it'll pull up the info. You can either e-mail or call it in.
Thanks. did it and recieved the same email as David. well except my email said my name
well, I would sign up for the waiting list, but the tournament is the same week as my wife's due date. I don't think I want to miss out on the birth of my first child, and even if the baby comes early or late, I won't have a whole lot of time to think about disc golf while prepping for the baby or taking care of the baby!
Hope all of you have a fantastic time up there!
You can have more kids, but who knows the next time you will have Worlds so close to home. You could always videotape the birth and watch it later too, although that sounds a little disgusting to me. Besides, you being there really has no effect on the outcome. If you wife loves you she'll want you to go.
Kalamazoo isn't too far away for next year!
on the waitlist (just in case)
now i guess i should shart putting
Got the e-mail this morning :) :) :)
Signed up :) :) :)
DFL here I come. Can't wait :) :) :)
I have a buddy who lives less than a mile from Brown Deer. :) :) :)
I need to hurry up and get on that. I have totally procrastinated in getting my money sent in. I don't think it will fill, but hotels sure will!
5 bucks says it fills

5 bucks says it fills
Before I get in on that action, how are you defining full?
Full is 8 X 72 = 576.

If 576 is full then I'm taking that bet.
How can there be 8 X 72 when there are only 4 courses for Worlds?

3 rounds per day on all 4 courses.

"The max capacity for the event is in fact 576. That is a HARD NUMBER because we are using 4 courses which will be running 3 rounds on them per day. The numbers don't lie - 576 is the max and we may be the first Am (or Pro) Worlds to ever fill to FULL CAPACITY. "

Other Masters 144 84 60

Totals 576 376 200
Get in while you can!
I say it's going to fill.
Diana, Kelsey and Kira are planning on staying at camp that week. I'm maybe coming, maybe not. I'm keeping the week open and if it fills, they wanted to play more than I did.
I'm going to play the amateur major run by amateurs for amateurs in two weeks. Maybe three rounds on the Tobbogan and I'm done playing disc golf for a year! :o
will there really be that many women and juniors to fill all the spots still available? if they released some spots to adv & masters then I'd agree with sentiments it'll fill....

If you don't believe me you won't get to play. If you plan on playing you better get your arse registered.

My thoughts were that it would not be possible to fill all the pools. You'll have 10 spots available in one of the women's or junior pools but a bunch of people on the wait list for Advanced.
only approx. 60 adv. spots left, plus my name just went on the list so expect registratoin to really take off now that people know this shiznit is for real!!
I registered last week and my name never went up. Something smells fishy...
Total registration is up to 481. There are 274 registered for Advanced & Grandmasters, leaving only 14 more spots. Get in while you can!
I have the week off from work, but I'm still thinking, if it fills, those guys wanted to play more than I did.
They updated the schedule for Am Worlds. It appears that they created 2 pools for ADV Master and ADV G.Master, which removes the ADV G.Master from the ADV Pools and makes room for 288 Advanced players. So for now there is still time for all you advanced players to register, but git r done soon. If you don't, you're going to be super pissed that Tuesday when you're at work thinking about how you could be shooting your 1st round at Worlds.
Pretty good research by The Michler! :o Thanks, Dan. Now there are 66 available advanced slots.
That leaves just 9 spots available for Masters & Grandmasters:
Masters 83 pre-registered
Grandmasters 52 pre-registered
Total "Masters" pools (E&F) 135
Maximum 144
Additionally, only 7 spots left for all women's divisions & Men's Sr. Grandmasters (pool G).
Pre-registered throught today-6/22/07: 507
Spots left:
Adv 49
Masters & GMasters 4
Women & Sr. GMasters 4
Juniors 12
