In anticipation of 90% snow melt over the weekend, let's play some $5 glow doubles at Madison Meadows in Lombard on Monday night. Forecast is upper 20's with a chance of snow. Should be nice & soggy. Mukey, WkeBrd3, & Elmo are "down" and Younk & I are "in." Sunset is at 5:40, let's try to tee off shortly after 6:30. Respond or send me a PM so we know to look/wait for you.
Tony, save me 5 or 6 of those red LED's.
SAWEET
I'll try and recruit some more people by then
Hmmm, where can I find lights? I haven't glowed since the China Syndrome.
I may try to do this, but I have so much stuff going on right now that I'm not 100% sure. I'll know either Saturday night or late Sunday if I can be there. Is the park officially open after dark?
You can find LCD lights at your local Meijer/Wallmart in the fishing asile. Or you could hit up a fishing store. Try to get the ones that pull up to turn on. They work better than the ones that twist. Just my opinion, but is a fact!
I'm 50%. Ive been out of town for a few days so I dont know if I'll have a ton of work to do early next week or not. Should be insanely wet out there, considering its supposed to rain over the weekend. #4 is going to be a lake.
just don't throw left :) and watch your step!

Guess we'll find out!
I think the sign says it's open until 10 pm. But that might be my bad memory showing. I know I've been there playing when the only light was from the softball/baseball fields and didn't get harassed, but I've never played glow there.
I'm assuming there will be no lights on?

When I've driven past there at night-time recently it has been VERY dark. There aren't any sports going on over the practicing right now that I know of. Even the parking lots are very dark. You would get some help from headlights on cars for a couple of holes and maybe from some of the houses near 6, but other than that it's very dark out there.
jrose is in
no lights this time of year but the park is open to like 10 i think

DARK is better. No lights to screw up your night vision ;)
RATS! Looks like old man winter is conspiring to keep us on the couch tomorrow night. Anyone hard core enough to still come out Monday night? If not we'll postpone til later in the week. Let's check the weather forecast tomorrow and pick another night.
If only we could be as manly as those studs that go to the Bevier league every week . . . .
after all the stuff that has gone on for me this weekend I'm definitely going to have to be out. Once this stuff melts again I should get out there to play it in the daytime to see how bad it would be in the nighttime-hope-i-don't-step-in-a-foot-deep-puddle round.
I propose that we play a shovel round where the person with the worst score from the previous hole carries the shovel and shovels the next pad.
Do we want to shoot for Wed this week?

Yep, the weather forecast points to Wednesday as our best shot. Who's in for Wed 3/7 glow doubles at Lombard? We'll tee off between 6:30 & 6:45. Reply or send me a PM so we know to look/wait for you. I'll bring shovels & we can share the tee-clearing duties.
If it's a go, I'll get there early and light up the baskets. Anyone want to help??? ;D
Alright fools, looks like we're good to go tonight. Anyone else coming out?
I'm there...I'll try to remember a flask to keep me warm ;D
yes i am going to bring a shovel and an ice scraper
Thanks to Tony, Jason, Elmo, & Josh for coming out to glow at Lombard last night. Crunchy snow & no wind made for a good time. Tony's trying to get another glow round for next week.
I'll probably be able to make it to something next week. This week has been bad for obvious reasons.
It was a lot of fun ;D I had never played "wolf" or whatever it was called and it was a good way to play with uneven numbers :icon_thumleft:
Just a reminder that the time change is this weekend. Therefore it won't be getting darker until an hour later next week.
Yea, wolf was fun. Tyler, I owe you $ 0.70
LOL
Well, as of right now, we're shooting for Tuesday. We'll have a couple visitors coming in from Jersey, so we'll do a casual round around 4:00 to show them the course and then start glow around 7:00. Who's in?
I want to play! where should i get those really bright red things you guys had they were pretty cool and i could see them alot better than the green glow sticks
Jason, I actually found another dozen of 'em in my garage, brand new. I'll bring them for you. $3 each.
I'm down for it also. Woulda come this week but I scheduled the Whirlyball after we got weather-delayed last time.
Yeah I'm glad that there are people coming out for this. Us Jersey girls are excited to be playing with you midwestern boys. Looking forward to it. See you all in a few days. I'm playing in a tournament this weekend at Sedgley Woods. Check out our site www.sedgleywoods.org. Our club probably has the biggest following of members.
Becky
For anyone interested we are planning to play this again this week at Meadows at 7:00 on Tuesday.
argh, I can't make it. My uncle is out visiting and wanted to take us all out for dinner that night. Ah well, maybe another week (and hopefully less soggy!) what are course conditions like right now? Lippold in Crystal lake was brutal!
Going to be in the lower 50's tomorrow night. Should be a nice night for some glow. Who else is in?
ja i'm in boieee
Count me in as well
7 tonight it is, if anyone wants to come out.
i've got tentative dinner plans for tonight, but i may be out there for the 4pm casual round w/steve waters. perhaps oakbrook @ 2, then madmeadows.

I'll be out there around 4:30.
I'll be there at 4, I'll be the one with the SIU shirt on ;D
I'm getting out of work at 530 and heading over. Does anyone have extra tape that they will be carrying? I have a couple lights but left my clear duct tape at home.
I've got some Mike. When you think you'll get there?
I have a meeting from 4:30 to 5:30 but I wouldnt be suprised if it goes long. I will probably get to the course around 6:30, possibly earlier if this meeting stays on schedule.
Sounds good. I'll be there at around 6 to get some throws in & then meet everyone back by Hole #1.
I was surprised to see such a turnout last night. Thanks to all that came out.
Tyler and Skipache won with a 10 or 11 down.
All the other groups were 1 or 2 down.
It was a lot of fun, thanks. I can't wait for the weather to really break & for the ground to dry out a bit more.
Skipache, lol
Skipache is talking about himself in third person again
I'm so glad you changed your SN to what most of the people in the 6some thought it was to begin with. OOOHHH SKIP ACE!!!! I seriously thought you were giving the name of your favorite italian dish. ;D
I thought he was trying to represent some PACE while SKI-ing...
tribune had a picture of kids on 4 wheelers at the meadows
hopefully they didnt cause any damage
Any glow doubles this week?
dunno.. but i'm pretty sure they won't be on Tuesday. there was talk about fixing up Xtremewood on Tuesday
