Look at those two DX beasts and look at the wing on the underside. If you run your finger on the rim and it is straight then it is a "new mold" beast. This is the current mold that all the star and some of the champion plastic has been run in. If however the wing is somewhat concave where it starts out straight and then juts out slightly at the bottom then it is an "old mold" beast. If you can remember, did the DX beasts fly kind of like an orc when new? The newer beasts are somewhat flippy while the older ones were pretty stable. Does that help?
Thanks!

gee yer smart. must be a family trait  :-\ although how many generations we'd have to go back to prove that could be exhausting...

This is the official story about the old mold Beast:  After they made the Orc, they decided the two were too similar, so they decided to produce a new disc and call it the Beast because Innova throwers never notice the change and just keep buying it for the cool name.  They already had a mold for the new Beast in production but almost no one was throwing it because, for some reason, they named it after an NFL football team that is universally despised everywhere outside Minnesota.   ;D

I actually carry all three in my bag.  I find each one just a little less stable than the next going Orc, Beast, Purple Packer Hater with the last one flying more of a straight line and the other two having more of an S curve flight. I find the Flash flies similar to the Beast with a little less yin and yang on the turn and fade.

Wow, that surprises me.  I have both new mold beasts and vikings in the garage, and they don't look or throw like each other for me.  Are there multiple Viking molds floating around out there too?  If anyone is interested, I have an old mold dx beast, a nicely beat  pink 4x champ beast, and a couple star beasts (new mold) for sale or trade (see link in sig).
