Does anyone know of a course thats dry or at least mostly dry right now in the area?
my living room is mostly dry. i got about a 25 footer in there, but it plays longer than that.
yea thats what my basement is for and im bored down there.
I dont think anything is going to be even remotely dry any time soon. In particular, stay away from Streamwood, Aurora, and West Park. Thos courses are terrible when its really wet.
I WOULD ALSO STAY AWAY FROM ROUND LAKE.WATER UP TO THE KNEES
OK, let's change the question a tad so as to get some useful info. Which courses are the least underwater right now? Anything bearable to play at all out there or do I just put my hip waders in the trunk a deal with it?
Bevier is usually a pretty good place to play when other courses are wet.
Grayslake was pretty decent today but still has quite a bit of snow on the ground.
How is Parkside right now?
my guess would be holes 5 & 6's baskets are nearly surrounded by water & 9's AM tee is unplayable @ parkside....
what about lombard and the joliet courses are they playable?
We're heading out to Buffalo Grove today. Hopefully it will be relatively playable.

I played Mokena yesterday, which is usually drier than most of the other Joliet-area courses. It was a complete swamp. If I didnt have waterproof shoes I would have been completely miserable. 2-3 inches of mud over the entire course. West Park and Channahon are probably un-playable if Mokena is that bad.
Eagle Ridge (Oswego) is very playable. Even after 50 people tromped around it for two rounds yesterday. Yes, there is some mud and some of the tees have small puddles and are a little soft, but overall the course is in very good shape. Thanks, Tree Camp and the Fox Valley Metro Club!
Played Lippold today....its SLOPPY!... theres still snow everywhere, 5 is halfway underwater...but its playable and tolerable
The Kirkland course is in great shape except for hole 8 and 9- the river is up and they are flooded.

I was out playing Lippold today as well... I dunno, I think the course is just going to get worse until all of the snow has had enough time to melt and dry out. It's not just a little bit of snow too. There's still a couple inches of it along the left side of the path for holes 1, 2, and 3. I skipped 5 and 6 because of the water on 5. I didn't bother with 10-15 or 18 either because I really just wanted to get out of there. Even the jogging path was mush.
Buffalo Grove wasnt terrible today. The first 6 holes are okay, you just spend a lot of time cleaning mud off your discs. All of hole 7 and the tee of 8 is pretty rough. The entire space between 7's basket and 8's tee is water several inches deep. The area around 9's basket is all sloppy mud.

Is this course on Aptakisic in a centennial park or something? I just got a GPS and when I programmed in all the courses in the area, I soon realized I live closer to more courses than I thought. I apparently have been driving by this course every day on the way to and from work and haven't played it yet. I think it is in Buffalo Grove and was wondering if this is the course you are talking about.

He was probably talking about Willow Stream. You are talking about the new BG course which I think is in Twin Creeks Park.
Played Fink and Danny Cunniff over in Highland Park on Sat. Fink was pretty wet but only #9 was unplayable. Just expect to have wet feet by the end of play. As for Cunniff, the holes were eaiser to naviagate around the water. All holes were playable.
We will be playing leagues Mondays and Thursdays at the Highland Park courses, starting at 5:00 tonight.
This week is at Fink, and next week is at Cunniff Park, and then back to Fink, and so on. It is on a rotating schedule by week.
There is no fee to play. We mainly play for tags.
However, there is an optional $5.00 fee for those that wish to do a little side betting.

Unplayable? Nothing is unplayable. It's just a question of what it's worth to you. ;D
I was out there yesterday, ran into Damon and we played all 9. Granted I putted standing barefoot in a foot of water that was iced over on top only a few hours before, but it was well worth it. Would have been really worth it if I had made the stupid putt. You can play smart and avoid the water if you want to...I'm just not that smart. ;)
But seriously, Fink is really muddy and wet. Everyone should still come to DGA leagues, just bring a bunch of towels and waterproof boots if you've got em. The course is very playable.
For anyone who cares, Fink over in highland was all playable yesterday! Still very wet tho!
Buffalo Grove (Willow Stream) was also much better on Monday than it was Sunday. Its a little muddy but not bad at all.
There are rivers flowing at Lombard, but for the most part they flow around all of the holes. All holes are playable. Hole 17 has a decent size pond 100ft back and to the right of the basket.
Also, BASKET 2 is missing. There are tire tracks that stop at the basket, and it looks like a car hit the basket. The lock was still attached and uncut. So, maybe the basket is being repaired. The cement foundation needs to be reajusted as well.
The original course at Anna Page is dry in most places with patches of snow and ice in shaded areas that really do not effect play. Its pretty muddy surrounding the basket on 13 which is under a huge tree and some of the pathways are icy. The path from 14 to 15's tee was a little trecherous due to ice. The tee pads are all nice and clean. Boy it felt good to play this course in shorts today! I did not venture onto the new course which has dirt (mud) tees. Lots of mid day players on the old course today. :) :)

D*mn it! That happened a few years ago & the only consolation I got was the fact that there was also a lot of glass around the basket. I must've played the day after it happened, 'cuase the basket was still there, but bent at a 90 degree angle, parallel with the ground. Gotta love people, *sigh*
Yeah somebody ran over the basket (Madison Meadows #2), but the LPD thinks they can fix it.
How does one drive over a disc golf basket, let alone drive 50 feet off a small road to drive over said basket?
I can get pretty pissed after a bad round. Never thought to attack the course itself.
Clark Park is not too bad. Hole 2 is wet. 3, 4 and 5 are closed, but you can play them.
Oak Brook is surprisingly in good shape. It's muddy, and the walkways from 2->3 and 6->7 and 7-> 8 are all trashed, but it's all very playable. Muddy around 3's basket, muddy up and down 7 as usual, not as bad as you would normally think around 9. 99% of the snow was melted.

Does anyone know if the condition has improved much?
I am thinking of playing league tomorrow.
I dont know but im not going to miss my shot at a $250.00 ace
Kirkland is in good shape. A liitle soft on 8 and 9, but that's it.
as of 3/18 Jericho is playable except for 17 and 18, which have flooded fairways. You could play them if you don't mind wet feet. Campton in St. Charles is open and playable, good crowd there over the weekend.
Oswego is in pretty good shape. Played there the other day & my socks didn't get wet at all.
all of Lippold in Crystal Lake is now playable except for hole #14. As soon as it opens up from the trees, it was nothing but water for 150+ feet in the open area. It covers pretty much the entire open area. I played everything else and was only +2 for the round... by far my best day out at Lippold!

Usually is until June/July every year, it seems like...
I gotta play the new layout before the Oly Opener
Bevier, of course, is pretty good out in the grass. Woods are still a little sloppy unless you get there early morning before the overnight freeze melts.
Can any of the Fox Valley crowd (or anyone else) give me an update on how the Oswego course is right now? I assume it's wet, but how bad? Is it playable?

We held the club tourney when the water was at the highest level around here and Oswego was fine. I would think that it was in pretty good shape right now.
The course is pretty good with the exception of hole 8 around the dogleg part of the fairway, other than that, the wood chips heep the course very playable.
I played Oswego on Sunday & it wasn't bad. Didn't even get my socks wet at all. This week's rain might have made it a bit wetter out there, but with all the wood chip paths you should be OK.
i played lombard last weekend and it is the least dry course that i've seen. i would not suggest anybody go play there.

I 2nd that. It was a mud pit when we played Glow and I can only imagine what it must be since more rain.
lombard and fink I think are the 2 scariest courses to play when it rains. I played Fink on monday and you're squishing around the entire time. There wasn't a whole lot of standing water, but it was just soppy grass and mud (like how it would be if you just laid down new sod and were watering the snot out of it)

I'm not so sure of that. I played Summit on Monday. There were a couple of (and I quote) "fairways" under water.

Thanks for the updates.
I actually figured Lombard would be fairly dry, thanks for the warning.
Fink is the closest course to me, and I will say that it gets BAD when its wet. But Summit is worse. I was there last spring and hole 3 was completely under water, as was most of 6, the tee pad for 7 and the whole left side of 9 (which is the only playable side). I ran into Mike and he said they added some drainage...maybe not enough yet.
Brakel-Murphy Gardens is high and dry. ;D
