Title: 2007 Area League Play
Post by: pickax on March 12, 2007, 12:34:06 PM
There are many different leagues going in Northeastern Illinois that I thought it would be good to have one common calendar for them. I personally use Google Calendar to keep some organization for my personal schedule. I have created a public Discontinuum Leagues / Tournament Calendar in Google Calendar. Anyone using Google calendar can search for it in the public calendars and view it in their own. For those that have not yet played with Google Calendar, you're missing out. But that doesn't mean it is completely hopeless. For those in this category. The calendar can be viewed via the Northern IL Calendar (http://discontinuum.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=51) link in the left column.

I will try to maintain this calendar to the best of my ability, but to make it useful, I need the info to feed the calendar. If you want to have info about your favorite league posted on this calendar, please send me the following info (via PM or this thread).

- Dates and Times (Be specific, Do not say "Tuesdays at noon" unless you really go year round, 52 weeks a year).
- Course (if this is not constant, be sure to give me a list matching specific dates and courses).
- Format: Best Shot Doubles, Singles, etc.
- Cost (breakdown of cost is useful too. e.g. Lombard is $5 entry + $1 Ace Fund + $1 Course Use Fee = $7)
- Organizer or Point of contact, email, phone, etc.

Currently the calendar is Read Only.

Saw the same thing as Kurt.  I went to your website and the disc golf link is not a link.  Nice family picture.

works with IE 6
Title: Re: 2007 Area League Play
Post by: can't putt on March 12, 2007, 02:27:00 PM
Works in Firefox 2.0.0.1

Tried it in IE 7 as well -- same result as Jon

Krupicka's doesn't display in IE 7 either.

There is a war between Google and Microsoft. If that feature is using "Canvas", IE 7 doesn't support it, but there are hacks available.

Bottom line -- IE sucks.

For those IE7 users who can't get the Northern Illinois Calender (http://discontinuum.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=51) link working, I believe the link through my own web site (http://krupicka.org/discgolf/calendar.html) works.

Last night at DGAC leagues, we had a decent turnout of 10 players.  We have been averaging about 15 players on Mondays, and about 10 on Thursdays...and growing.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Quest Advanced Technologies is the official sponsor of The Disc Golf Alley Club.  My wife and I are sales reps. for Quest, so if anyone needs anything, don't hesitate to contact me.

Skunk was telling me that he was going to start having dubs on Thursday nights at Oak Brook at 6pm I believe.  He mentiong something about the Kamm's getting involved on it too, so I'm not 100% sure who is running it.

He did tell me that it was going on tonight though.

Any leagues on Thursday nights in the Joliet area or far south suburbs?  The Joliet and Red Roc sites appear to be down and the calendar on the Discontinum site doesn't have anything.  I will be on the far, far south side near the Indiana borderr until 430 and thought I would hit a local course, maybe Mokena, unless there was a league playing.

I'll be starting a Fall Best Shot Doubles league at Parkside on Saturdays @ 10:30 starting September 22nd.
$4 weekly entry fee, $2 for students and all women.

I'll be following a point system based on Discontinuum's with trophies for 1st through 3rd overall.

Hope to see everyone out there,
Kyle

There is a link to it on the left side of the pages under "Northern IL Calendar". If there are other tournament league organizers that would like the ability to directly add events, please pm me with your email address that you use for google calendar and I will add permissions for you to do so.

btw Mirth. It looks like the column width on that link somehow is stuck to be really narrow. Can you fix that?
