Fantastic weather this weekend. Dan, Tom, & I headed up there to play this event for the first time. We saw many past and present club members. I was not too impressed at first with the original course. It's a very technical short course. I remember throwing a driver on only a few holes. It played much tougher than I anticipated. The temp holes on that course and the temporary course was very tough! You had to keep it in the fairway to score well on that course. Dan got to play with Cale & Keith Warren round 1. The final round I got to play with Heeren & Drummond. I enjoyed the tournament and was glad I atteneded. Cale tore it up!!
When I read that you played with Heeran the second round I figured you must have played pretty well.
Our humble President shot 2 1000+ rounds and a 996. He tied sixth out of 52 and won some cash. Nice shooting!

I saw those round ratings on PDGA.com. Great shooting Brett!
Congrats on the strong showing!
The temp course at this event was very nice, longer with tight but reasonable fairways. But if you did get into the rough the chance of making a par went out the window. (Watch out for the wood ticks.) The temp course looped around a nice park, during the winter it is used for cross country skiing. There were a couple of temp holes which used ski hills and were a blast to play. I think part of the problem why Illinois doesn't have more great players is that there isn't an opportunity to play on courses that work your entire game.
Congrats to Brett he shot outstanding golf this weekend, a great finish in a very strong player pool. Just about all of the top players from Wisconsin and Minnesota were at this event.
Congrats to Carla for taking first in Advanced Women.
Woo-hoo! Brett is big time now! :D Nice 1000+ rated tournament.
