will there be a payout to the top~1/3 of the amateur fields or is the basket the only prize?

It's a B tier so they have to pay out the top percentage

I think there were issues with this tournament last year.  New TD.  Didn't understand the PDGA amateur payout thing.

We will go by the PDGA standards
Last year we had a huge payout and this year will be even better.

Maybe I was confusing this tournament with the tournament that had the problem then.  Maybe Dan was too.

There might have been an issue last year I would have to ask Roger about it. Roger is great and raises alot of money for this tourney and any mistakes that was made last year will be fixed. He works very hard and I'm sure this event will be even better than ever. Last year Jay Reading(Open champion) said during his acceptance speech this might be the best C-Tier in the country. We are excited and hope that everone walks away happy.

No I defnitely am not confused.  Last year they paid out the top 1 player of advanced with a mini-basket.  That was the entire payout.  I remember because I got 3rd and went home minus the $35 entry and without anything to show for it.

I'm defnitely not arguing that you had a huge payout, you defnitely did.  They paid out like the top 75% of pro as I recall.  My only question is will the amateurs be paid out other that 1st place getting a basket?

We will be paying the top 1/3 of all the Am divisions. You can blame any mistakes last year on me. I was busy running the Jr's compition and didn't watch what was going on with all the AM payouts. Check me out before the tounament and we will hook you up.

I just received word that a large group of Jr's are coming up from St Louis. We will have an 8&under division on the short City Course.

Just an FYI, there is no PDGA division that is 8 and under. MJ4 and FJ4 are "born 1997 or later" commonly referred to as 10 and under. That's the lowest age PDGA jr division currently.

The 8 year old division will get trophies and prizes for the division. When we report the scores to the PDGA all the players 10 and under will be included in the 10 and under division and will be placed in the order of  their final  score.  The DesMoines area has offered this division for years. It gives the younger kids a chance to win trophies and prizes. The 10 and under kids will have a sweat double payout.  If there is going to be a problem please PM me so we can discuss it in more detail.

I'm fine with TDs running shadow divisions like Am4 like we do. I just wanted to make sure that people knew it was not a PDGA division.

There will also be a group of kids coming from a school in central IL and just last night the father of the 10 and under world champion called and is going to try and make it up from AZ. Should be quite the Jr turnout.

Anyone from up here going to this one? I am thinking about it and would be heading down friday for the ace race.  Question 2, to papparoc, is there a fee to camp at the course?

Dave N. & I played this event. We camped at the course Friday night. Hot showers at the pool!

This course is fun! 2nd year playing it. Shot much better.

Pretty tough field. 8 players rated over 990 in the open division. Tanner Duncan, Chris Sprague, & Rob Sandrick  had a 3 way tie. Cash money won it after 3 holes. $1500 added with $650 going to the winner.

Kenny G. placed 2nd in Adv & Dave N finished 6th. Lots of familiar faces down there.

It was a fun time at this tournament.  It was really nice talking with Jay Reading at the bonfire the night before the Tournament.  Only problem (if you call it that) was each player having their own score card,  it got really annoying and sucked if you were somewhere else when the top person took all of them, you were SOL as to where you started.  The course was awesome and thank god I brought some knee high socks.  A card member had sandals and shorts on and went into a patch of Stinging nettles.  From the knee down he was burning.  Wish I shot better but it was my first time playing the course.  I was surprised as to how many people I recognized 4.5 hours away from home.
