Title: I'm a n00b
Post by: Danny ...yeah on May 04, 2007, 02:47:43 AM
I live in the city and spend about every 3rd weekend at my gf's parents' house in Waukegan. The house is not far from Bevier Park and I'm considering showing up for one of the tourney things they have on Sundays

My question is this: How competitive/serious are these things? I play disc golf because I'm in college and its a free game. I'll shell out the 6 buck entry fee if it's a fun scene but I've been playing for about 4 years and never played competitively. I've played a few "8 guys through in a couple bucks and winner take all" kinda thing amongst friends but nothing really organized. If I did do the sunday AM thing, am I a novice? I've never measured my abilities against anybody but friends that I drive to courses with on lazy afternoons.

You'll be playing on the lower side and you'll get a partner who is much better.  You'll have as much fun as you can buy for $6 for two hours, or whatever league costs thses days.  This is really cool: It will be in 3-D but you don't have to wear funny glasses.
