Title: Need some help with my Orc
Post by: chitownlefty on June 14, 2007, 04:28:59 PM
Hey guys,

I've been playing for a couple years, albeit pretty recreational, nothing too serious. Right now, I throw:

Champ Valk
Champ Orc
Discraft Cyclone
Discraft Elite X Stratus
DX Roc
DX Cheetah
Millennium Omega Putter

I've seen every disc develop into more consistency except the Orc. I'm a lefty, and I can never seem to throw it straight. Any tips?

This may be too obvious, but not every disc can be thrown straight.  Use it for holes that go the way it wants to go.

Wow, I never even thought about that. I guess that would make sense. Thanks a lot.

a lot of snap/rotation should straighten out your orc some, but it will still want to finish right as it slows down.

I can get my 175 Champ Orc to fly straight, but I need to put a LOT of snap on it and it's several years old now. Even then, as mirth said, it still fades out at the end.

before I lost my first run champ orc it had started to track right when thrown with moderate velocity. Dunno if my snap speed increased that much or it just had become beat in enough.

Go to an open field somewhere & just toss it back & forth a lot. You'll get the hang of it.

I guess it depends on how you throw it. I used to release my disc mostly flat or a little annhyzer and that definitely made it burn out a bit. Now I release it hyzer and put a lot of snap on the disc and it usually keeps it straight.
