Title: Finally have my own hotstamp design!
Post by: stpitner on June 19, 2007, 12:47:51 PM
I didn't realize how cool of a feeling it was to know that you have a logo that will start popping up on discs soon.  I don't have the discs yet, but the design has been sent off to Gateway and will be sent out to have the hot stamp created either tomorrow or Thursday.  It's going to be REALLY awesome to hold a disc in my hands with my own business logo on it.  It was a pain to modify the logo and map out the stroke lines on the basket.  There's nothing too *spectacular* about the logo, but it's hopefully a sign of good things to come down the road!

I'm not sure what discs this stamp will go onto - Wizards and Warlocks for sure, but I don't know if it will be all of the various firmness models.  I might even try to get some Glow Wizards and some SSS Wizards with this stamp.

I'd like to know what you think about the stamp, even if it is pretty simple - at least it gets the point across!

I shrunk the image for posting purposes... the one sent for hotstamp is a lot more clearly defined on some of the lettering.

Happy day for me!
Scott

Very cool Scott! I have a few graphic designers that do contract work for me and I may be able to work out a trade deal in the future if you are looking to get a little more advanced with the logo.

how much would it cost you for them to make say 50 of those?

I'm not sure, I guess it depends on the disc that I'm going to pick up :)  I haven't received word that my hot stamp is ready to go yet, so I'm still waiting to order.  As far as I know the pricing will still be the same as the usual stock stamp stuff.  David has been great working with me so far on all of the discs and stuff.

If you're thinking of getting a run of 50 discs hotstamped, I'd definitely recommend emailing office@gdstour.com and asking.  I think the only reason I'm waiting on my hotstamp right now is because they were going to send it out at the same time as the new Diablo-DT stamp design, which was just decided upon mid-to-late last week (I think).

My first round of hot stamped discs came in last night :)  They look very sweet!  I received black Soft Wizards and light blue Super Soft Warlocks.  The unfortunate thing is that some of the hot stamp foil that they used - while very colorful and awesome - has a lot of issues with flakes.  I wonder if I can brush those off and keep the stamp from lifting up.

I'll try to get some pictures up tonight!
