On the Quest thread there was some drift about 150 class stuff. I bring 50 or 60 150 class discs to every tournament. They are mostly Innova, but I've got the ULRIDTs and some Discraft. The Discraft 150 stuff likes to sneak out of the 150 box and go hang out with the Discraft, so sometimes it isn't in the 150 box.
Anyway, someone was asking what flies nice in the 150. I throw back to Kelsey so I have a few opinions. Feel free to add your own.
For adult advanced amateur power, the Z-Talons are very straight, very easy to control. The Champ T-Birds are just a touch understable for me but might be just right for a lot of players. The Star Valks and Star Sidewinders turn over easily. The 150 Storms are lazer straight for the women who throw them.
PM for the Z talons
DX Wraiths in 150 fly nicely with a tailwind. I also have a 150 DX Firebird that was just as stable as a heavy one when it was new. It definitely broke in much faster, though.
I have a 150 Champ Valk that is good for fixing form, because its laughably understable. If you can get it to fly out near 350' you know your release is smooooth. Playing rounds with that disc, a buzz and a putter really helped get my game back on track in the spring.
Are there a lot of people looking for 150-class stuff? I see it get mentioned every once in a while, but I get very few people asking about it. There has definitely been an increase of people looking for high range 160's, but I was curious is people want the 150 stuff. I don't stock a lot of it right now because I don't get many requests. Perhaps people would be interested but just settle for something else instead.
Just curious :)
I keep 150 stuff in stock as a service to the women and grand masters who play our tournaments. A lot of men get 150 stuff for their non-tournament playing women, too. But, no, it is not a lot. It is slow moving.
One time I asked Pad Timmons how their stock of 150 Z Storms was holding out and he said, "Well, at the rate you are buying them..."
As a special request from a couple of women and grandmasters I ordered some 150 stuff with my recent innova order. I was throwing the 150 Champ Firebird on the Pinewood GC driving range and it is sweeeet. I was throwing it 280 upwind uphill and 360 downwind downhill. It was not at all flippy into the wind.
I want to throw the 150 TeeRex but it is DX. Champ won't get hurt on the driving range because it is soft golf grass, but DX could scuff on something.
Do you have any of the Z Talons still? If so will you be bringing them to IOS #1?
Thanks.
I'm not sure if i have any. I'll be ordering some if they are not out yet. If they are out and i have some, I'll probably be out before I get there. Kelsey throws them.
The 150 Surge's bomb with no wind, the only downfall is the garbage elite X plastic.. ::)

It's not even Elite X. It's only priced like Elite X. :'(
Whatever plastic they are, they suck for sure... but they make giant turnovers quite simple. >:D
Hey Bruce, happen to have any 150 Impacts? Prefferably pink or purple? If not could ya jot down a note to put them on your next Discraft order & I can pick them up at whatever IOS event follows that? (or anything at Hollywoods/Byron I may see ya at)
