Tom McManus, Dan Michler, myself, & possibly Mike Clark will be setting up a temporary 9-hole course at the Lakewood Forest Preserve. It's located on the corner of Fairfield Rd. & 176. The course will be set up by 8am and will start to be removed around 11:30am. Come out & play.

Come on out on Wednesday morning. Brett did a great job with the layout of this temp course. We had a great time the previous time we played. It looks like the weather is going to be great. Lots of water so bring some discs that you aren't afraid to lose.
Need a basket? I have a skill shot....
I may come out. Always nice to play some new courses in the area (even if they are temporary).

Excellent! I've had quite a few people that said they were coming. We'll be there rain or shine!
Not sure on the final count, I think around 16 players came out to play a very fun course. We were able to get the baskets set up by 8:00 AM, play 27 holes and have the baskets down and packed up by noon. A great morning of disc golf. Water came into play in seven out of the nine holes. Great use of the trees and some road OBs. There were a number of fisherman, bicycle riders, and park visitors who were checking us out and providing positive feedback.

that was a fun time out there. maybe we can do it again sometime and setup a doubles competition or something. the course we have been playing out there is fun and challenging, but not so much of a ballbuster that your not going to enjoy yourself.
So what's the count of discs lost in the lake at hole 7? That little bit of wind coming over the lake sure sucked those discs in if you weren't expecting it playing the first time. I know I threw my TeeRex in there which you guys fished out, and my buddy threw his champ Valkyrie which is now resting at the bottom. I also donated my star Wraith to the pond on hole 5. Hah hah, what a crazy course. Thanks for the great setup. It was definitely a pleasure to play.

Absolutely NOT.
You all saw the satellite map above, here's what it looked like from the tee pads:
Hole 1: Slightly downhill with with water right behind the pin. There was a bit of a wind that pushed the discs a lot farther out than you wanted them to go.
Hole 2: You can't even see the basket from the tee. It's hiding behind the bushes on the right, just to the right of that big tree across the pond.
Hole 3: Again, going across water. The pin is up the hill on the other side. There is no fairway here, everything on the other side of the pond is waist high if not higher.
Hole 4: Long hole great for leftys with an arm. You can see the road all the way at the end of this fairway. The pin was across that and then across the road on the right.
Hole 5: This hole was pretty long. You can't see the basket from the tee here either, but if you look in the direction of the big tree in the foreground, then go across the pond, it was deep in the trees there.
Hole 6: Another long one. Again, basket not visible from the tee. I had a really hard time getting a 3 on this hole. The pin on this hole is in the direction of that playground that is visible on the left, but a few hundred feet behind it.
Hole 7: Pin was clearly visible on the other side of the lake behind that log floating near the shoreline. Unfortunately there was a bit of a wind blowing across the lake from the right that burned out your discs causing them to drop smack in the middle if you weren't ready for it.
Hole 8: A pretty easy hole except again, there was a bit of a face wind that pulled your discs to the right towards the water if you weren't careful.
Hole 9: At first the pin was across the pond on the right up in the trees behind the two fishermen. Later it was moved to the left side near the shore of the pond on the left. You can see some guys gathered around the pin in the new location up ahead.
